Apart from being a little bit further to the Right, I don't really have any other suggestions.
I was at Spa the previous 2 days, rears were sliding if I trailbraked into a corner to rotate the car, but it was always planned.
As plenty have said, perhaps it's just a slightly colder rear right, less sunshine, a different line (slightly) and just a bit of bad luck.
If you are really bored, I did a video myself, with a side by side of a previous lap.
The downside is more of me talking

She and my nephew watched the video and wonder/ask if when you look at the video you’d taken more kerb on left? On the slowmo, the line between kerb and track dropped through the dashboard further to the right on the lap you span.

That was also my thinking.
He was pushing the Golf pretty hard by the time he got to Adenauer Forst, I don't see how a tyre could be cold at this point. Plus, he did a warm-up lap. I could be talking utter garbage, but a cold tyre seems unlikely.

I just realised who you are . I was at Spa the previous 2 days, rears were sliding if I trailbraked into a corner to rotate the car, but it was always planned.

You sir are one lucky chap. The crash could have been much worse, especially with how much speed this car carries through the twisties.
I presume you're home now, so have you had a chance to assess the damage? Is anything worse than you first thought?
I'm glad you walked away unscathed, and finally, I must ask, when will you be back at the Ring?
NG
Edit: I've just watched the video, where you answered my Q's.
Time and time again, I've seen people give up on their race cars after a crash, I'm glad you aren't doing the same.

Turn in with the right wheel on the kerb from what I can see. Or at the very least the white line.
That was my immediate takeaway from the onboard, looked the reason for unsettling the rear to me anyway. I've only ever done 4 laps though and at nothing like that pace so more than happy to defer to Nigel's far greater wisdom Networkgeek said:

Is that a good or bad thing I've had the steering rack out, wishbones off to inspect for any damage.
Tie rods are straight, but I'm replacing anyway. Found a coolant hose with a nick in the outer layer, not through the middle reinforcing, but I've changed it anyway.
Have all the new parts, should start the respraying of the repaired wing and new bumper later this week.
Otherwise, nothing else has been damaged. I'm acutely aware of how fortunate I am.

It's a good thing. You're a Nurburgring celebrity these days I've had the steering rack out, wishbones off to inspect for any damage.

I wish everyone who went to the Ring were as thorough as you
I'm not sure if I'm being a worry wart, or if being sensible is finally catching up with me, but your video is really putting me off from driving my M2 on the Ring. I don't proclaim to be an expert with my 30-40 laps under my belt, but lately, I've seen more crashes. The speed people drive at TF is crazy and it's only a matter of time before something happens to me.
I feel it's time for me to start looking at the Ring track days and maybe using my Clio RS200 Cup instead.
Track days are a lot better. Less variety of speeds and you get to do the full Dottinger straight, which is fun.
As for which car, it’s possible to crash anything there.
As much as anything, driver attitude and mentality count, but there’s also luck. No one plans to hit someone else’s coolant leak.

Slightly off topic but hoping any locals will know, over 28 April - 02 May should I expect bars and restaurants in Cochem to close for May Day or even the Sunday before? Or should I expect a bit of a party?
Bars and restaurants are normally open and in full swing on bank holidays. Rowe said:
TF is a no go zone of recent IMO.
Too many heroes trying to race their own shadow.
Trackdays are so much better and relaxed.
Indeed. I've not done a TF since about 2017 after trying a cheap Circuit Days day promoted by Dale on his FB page (£350!) Too many heroes trying to race their own shadow.
Trackdays are so much better and relaxed.
The problem with TF is that you get all the Asseto Corsa boys thinking they can get sub 8 in their Corsa VXR on the first lap in traffic.
What I would say is that a visit to the Ring is more enjoyable when it's TF the Trackday is more low key theres a lot less of a buzz it's just you and your pals and the track so I would really recommend going for a day or two extra and enjoying spectating TF and then doing a trackday on the Monday

Has anyone been to Pistenklaus recently? We are going next week and it used to be the place to go for a tasty slab of meat but the trip advisor reviews are pretty damning.
We were there last summer for the price you can’t complain and we all went away happy. Think I’ve eaten there at least once a year for the last few years and it’s been consistent and quite often busy. Garett said:

Food is ok. The steak everyone raves about is generally from the same supplier for all the other restaurants in the area. But I will say that portion sizes of the steak have improved over the last couple of years. Is it good or bad, we’ll most of the time you cook your own steak on old broken stones. The rest of the menu is fair, there’s better and worse around, but for Italian it fills a gap. Biggest problem is that the service can be very poor. Meals are often rushed as they want you moved on. The waiting staff do not get the tips, the owner sees it beyond his niceness to allow them that perk of the job.
It’s a must go place but it’s not because of the above it’s because it’s in the middle of Nurburg and there’s memorabilia and scribbling everywhere.

Not giving the waiting staff the tips is seriously poor form tbh , didn’t know that. As a tradition I go there on the last night of my visit, the steak is v tender and had been consistent over the yrs …is the owner the dark haired balding chap? He’s not the most welcoming or friendly of hosts tbh but it’s a cash cow people will always go there regardless. Biggest problem is that the service can be very poor. Just bear in mind that your clothes will stink after a visit to Pistenklaus, so best go at the end of a trip rather than the startGassing Station | Track Days | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
