I want to know how all the daytime boys are going to cope with the amount of tracktime - 8 x 30 minutes could mean a few peak too early!

I shall be watching...

I would love to, but I think I'm persona non grata at present.

The CSL is too fast!

I'll be there (with my dad) in a yellow Ultima... sadly the weather is looking rather wet

And it was - very wet!

Any stories??

I managed a 180 spin at Club (yellow Elise) but kept out of everybody's way (I hope). Rest of the evening was spent 'mostly' sideways at various times....

boy was it wet, and so was I by lunch time, even through full waterproofs, you tin top lads had it easy!!

Renault Clio V6 managed to spin in front of us coming out of Woodcote, it was almost inevitable! Spent most of the day keeping out of everyones way, but had some really good laps in the last 2 sessions as most people had gone home, and without the worry of looking through the spray to see who was about to drive over me, got much faster, and started to enjoy it.

The evening session looked a positive balmy evening compared to the day! Must get a garage next time!

Made a very bad error in our judgement... not at the trackday, but the week before!

The tyres on the Ultima are very worn, probably at the road legal limit and due for a change. We decided that rather than waste/burn a set of fresh boots on a track, we'll get some afterwards. Couple of days before the trackday we see the weather forecast and realise that no rubber burning will take place and we prayed for the weather to change. Sadly, good fortune does not shine brightly upon us and the heavens opened about 5 minutes before we arrived at the track.

Took the car out on the circuit, a little bit worried about the lack of tread on the tyres and found that there was almost zero grip, occasionally aquaplaning across the meerest of puddles. 3 laps, 2 spins, 1 grass excursion... this was not an enjoyable experience and actually far to dangerous for us and other drivers. We decided to come in and wait out the rain. By 1pm, we realised that the rain was there to stay and we went home.

A very expensive 3 laps and a lesson in not taking old tyres to a trackday

I'm convinced that I'm a jinx on the weather at the Silverstone GP circuit: all the times I've done a trackday there it has been absolutely soaking. The one time I didn't book into the day (because I was sure it would be wet ) but went along to spectate it was glorious sunshine.

To be fair the evening session wasn't too bad, but it was very slippery. Certainly concentrated the mind and made for a sideways-tastic experience.

I guess I had the same car during the day - no spins, but quite a few moments! Did those tyres have any grip?

Circuit was very slippy, but perfect for learning the wet line in track-club's Track Academy - good course and superb instruction from Robin Liddell this time - I highly recommend it.
