It may be worth talking to Blyton Park, they used to do full day private hire but since being bought by Ginetta they don't do it now as such but they do midweek testing sessions for a very reasonable rate. You have to fit in with their schedule though.
You beat me to it as I have only just seen this post.

They are excellent & the place is always friendly & helpful, I have attended a few private group TDs there & they are normally very competitive and it is a fun easy to learn circuit to boot.

this is a good thread thanks for the information.

I once hired bruntingthorpe runway for the princely sum of £50/hr. Got over 180mph.

I think they stopped private hire shortly after however which would be a real shame unless anyone has been recently, id love to go again.

Unfortunately Bruntingthorpe runway is now full of ex fleet/lease/PCP cars which at 2 or 3 years old most of society wouldn't be seen dead in and have chopped in for a shiny new number plate (sorry, rant over).

Anyway, for a simple and probably cost effective solution Curborough seems like the ideal option.

Yes gutted Bruntingthorpe don't do it any more - It's 20 minutes from my house for a start.

If you don't need a full-on race circuit, somewhere like Tockwith might fit the bill? https://tockwithmotorsports.net/Driving_hire.html

Downside is there's a speed limit frown

That's interesting and very cost effective ... that limit might be a little strict though!

I have hired Curborough a couple of times and I think it’s about £1000 a day now. Not bad if you get a few of you together to hire it.
There’s also https://www.stafford-driving-centre.co.uk/ although not sure whether they rent it out to private clients now.

That is tragic and depressing!

another option would be the stafford driving centre on an old RAF airfield.

Probably a dumb question but do noise limits still apply if you hire the track?

Yep, they certainly do.

Damn, thought that might have been a way to get my Corvette at full chat!

The circuit is still open, the cars are behind the barriers and not affecting the circuit.

Really? I had heard the opposite. Do you have any contact info for the track operation?

Yep definitely interested, would be a shame to leave the circuit going to waste.

Having been round it many times, I'm going by the link supplied. The cars shown are behind the barrier seperating the track. People like Rob Wilson teach on it and companies hire it for testing and launches etc. so there is an incentive not to close it if there is space elsewhere. They stopped allowing trackdays however some while ago.

Right ok, I clicked on the Google Maps link above, and clicked on the hyperlink on there for Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground, however it takes you to Cox Automotive - https://www.coxautoinc.eu/ . Do you have a link to the website you've mentioned?

Granted someone like Rob Wilson can hire the circuit, but a one man band in a Vauxhall Astra that has been instructing drivers since the old King died might be treated slightly differently to Joe Public wanting to rock up and hire the circuit for testing.

Are you sure? The “Supercar experience companies” all stopped being able to hire and use Bruntingthorpe about 2 years ago, because of the expanded car storage plans. All at the same time as the Cold War jet taxiing demonstrations had to stop, and many aircraft ended up having to be moved (included several to different sites) or broken up (eg Tristars, Guppy etc).

The poster above said the runway is now full of cars and provided a link. In the link, the runway is not full of cars, and the circuit that has been used for testing is clearly still there and seperated off.

Fine, but the companies that used to use it all of the time (Everyman, Car Chase Hero’s etc) have not been able to hire it to my knowledge. And I would have expected them to, if they could have.
Having a satellite image showing a track, and actually being able to hire it are two different things.
I would love to be proven wrong and find that the track can be hired as I might get some work there again in the near future, as it’s not that far from me.
