I wouldn’t pay to much attention to the forecast , it changes by the hour there , I’ve set off in sunshine from the toll booths and got to breidschied bridge and hit rain so heavy the wipers can’t cope !
We’ve also gone out early to get to the track and had to clear frost off the windscreen , as I know others have , I think mmm 5 has a pic if I remember correctly ?
The weather is a bit of a lottery , just get there and make the best of it , there’s always the go kart track !

This is probably the bigger weather risk

Track will stay closed all day if the visibility is poor

This could have been taken the following day (it is was also taken in April but in a different year)

Rain, hail snow and blazing sunshine today.

Couldn't get on the track sadly (arrived at 4). Will see it tomorrow brings any luck.

It does look quite damp, glad you got on track

It never fully dried out but managed a couple of laps, it really helped keep the crowds down which was actually quite nice.

Already planning the next one!

I did glance onto the web cams this morning , it looked wet so there were more cars on the main road than in the queue for the tolls , did it dry out ? It looked like there was a pretty long queue to get off at one stage ?

Crazy friday is what my German mate used to call it , but bizarrely it didn’t look to bad today on the track ,
I’m booked for mid May but it’s more of a boozy boys trip these days , we’re getting on a bit !
We’re hoping for a quiet mid week few days but judging by the you tube content it’s never quiet these days

Why people bother with Car Freitag is beyond me.

It's great fun!

But only as a spectator

This is the first year I haven't been for a while, because the CD trackday is much later than usual, or Easter is earlier

Looked pretty bad on the roads there yesterday but the track was very quiet according to the numerous FB groups i'm on for the Nurburgring.

A lot of people going just to be able to say they were there rather than driving the track

I’ve booked up for the weekend of 7-9 June. Just realised this morning that is also the weekend of Rock am Ring, the music festival. Does anybody know what the place is likely to be like during this (I.e. will traffic be like the Easter bank holiday weekend and viewing points taken up by camping) or is it at a different part of the circuit with little impact?

The only time I’ve ever seen the track closed for weather reasons has been for dense thick fog , never for rain .
I managed this lap before the track was closed shortly after. Never seen rain like it. Fun though and only saw one other car all lap. biglaugh

I'm there the same weekend from 5th to 10th.
By all accounts the surrounding roads with be full drunk or high pedestrians causing traffic chaos but the track is relatively quiet compared to other TF weekends.
A lot of the viewing points are also supposed to be unusable for that weekend. As long at the track is quiet I won't mind though tbh.
