I’ve booked up for the weekend of 7-9 June. Just realised this morning that is also the weekend of Rock am Ring, the music festival. Does anybody know what the place is likely to be like during this (I.e. will traffic be like the Easter bank holiday weekend and viewing points taken up by camping) or is it at a different part of the circuit with little impact?
We booked a weekend like that once and stayed at the Lindner Congress Hotel and it was f 'ing noisy. Despite the earbuds they gave us at the desk it wasn't a pleasant experience at night.

Good luck.

To be fair, that’s opposite the main concert area though isn’t it? I’ve booked a small hotel in Adenau so as long as the roads and track are quiet, I’m happy!

Perfect weather for the CD double header earlier this week

Several people commented that it was perhaps the best CD event they'd attended

Roads will be busy, track will be quiet. Some say it’s the best time to do TF.

Anyone on DN next week? A few of us Porsche drivers are heading over, but not as big a group as usual, for various reasons.

Keep a eye on roads in the area - they are sadly having flooding again at the moment

I'll be there in a Grey 55 plate Cayman next week. Just for evening TF and we'll see how it looks on Thursday.

Was just talking to someone from Michelin PR. His counterpart in Germany had organised a track day the other week (not sure which circuit) and day before was 27 degrees, but the track day had to be binned, because of snow. yikes

It's been lovely in Adenau for the last week, only this morning was there any proper rain, and it's totally dry now

It's a risky time of year I did the CD season opener 3 years running and got sunburnt each time but then done back in utter monsoon conditions we were very lucky!

Summer DN has been if anything too hot for the last two years! 22 it was insanely hot instant tyre killer the second day!

Was meant to take the Manthey to DN, but the 24yrs old instrument cluster decided to go kaput. Now taking a 22yrs old M3 which is bone stock except new suspension and DS3000 pads.

In a way it should be more interesting- the 996 was good for 7:45s with ease, so now the M3 needs to dip sub 8mins on Pirelli P Zeros : silly:

Golf loaded onto the trailer for the last time yesterday.

We leave tomorrow. Really looking forward to Friday, the weather forecast looks good too!

It’s going to be emotional.
