Track show offers cut-price drives

Drive supercars for not much money

There's a double-dream and a half on the wish list at the Trackdays.com show at Rockingham Motor Speedway on 30 April 2006.

Petrolheads who've always wanted to drive a supercar can do just that for £99 -- but the bonus is that they get to drive it on the Rockingham circuit after a circuit-side briefing and with an instructor beside them.

And the half? If you book a briefing, instruction and driving session in either the Porsche 911 Turbo or Ferrari 355 Driver Experience cars, then they get to drive a Lotus Elise, at half price: £44.50.

"This has got to be the perfect introduction to track driving: a supercar, a briefing session, free hire of a helmet, instruction and at least 15 minutes on one of the most driver-orientated race circuits in the country," said Ian Raybould of Trackdays.com.

"To the novice, 15 minutes may not sound like very long, but every trackday enthusiast in the country knows that 15-20 minutes of track time can be surprisingly tiring for both driver and car. And, of course, the novice can only take so much adrenaline."

If booked in advance, the Driver Experiences include the price of an entry ticket to the show.

The Trackdays.com show is totally focussed on trackdays, trackday and performance products and driving experiences. It will cater for people who want to find out more about trackdays as much as it will for experienced track users.

"There are thousands of people who want to participate in trackdays, but who are perhaps curious, mystified or even intimidated by the thought of venturing out on to a race circuit. But by visiting the show they will discover and learn a great deal from other new or experienced trackday  fans," said Ian Raybould.

Tickets are priced at £12 in advance or £15 on the day. The on-track action will include opportunities for visitors to drive a Porsche 911 Turbo, Ferrari 355, Lotus Elise or Mini Cooper S, subject to availability and at extra cost, plus demos and displays by manufacturers and tuners. High-speed passenger rides will be also be on offer.

There will also be displays by clubs and event organisers and a retail area featuring enhancement, parts, tuning, clothing and equipment specialists.

Tickets for the on-track experiences are available in advance via www.trackdays.com, where they can also be purchased as Gift Experiences.

Full details and tickets are available from www.trackdays.com. Club and trade enquiries should be made to sales@trackdays.com.
