I was there too in the blue Fisher Fury (first time out for me). Saw you going through the S bend corners at the end of the back straight, you looked like you were having a lot of fun sliding around smile

No idea what time I did as was just trying to get up to speed with the new car and track driving....

Hi Mike, there were two r32's there, it wasn't me that was sliding about as they would've black flagged me in an instant.

I was having fun tho smile

Having fun or sliding about are not allaowed at brands. Driving badly and spinning off all the time is absolutely fine though, you'll never get flagged for that wink

I know some of the marshals read this part of the forum (and consider some friends!) but they came out with a huge pile of ste on thurs . They flagged me for racing the other 32 and making too much tyre noise. I said I wasn't and have video evidence to prove, they said I was. It was like Punch and Judy.

They behaved like bent police.

It's still a great track though and so convenient for any southerners, if you can keep under the radar you'll have lots of fun smile

It's great for spectating too.

Shame I didn't see your car, i don't know much about them but they have all the right ingredients!

Hopefully meet you at the next one smile

You should compete, think those sort of times would put you on the podium in Time Attack club.

Im not up to speed with the current regs, so not sure what tyres they're currently running.

Thanks mate, I was thinking about doing the brands round of time attack but after a quick look through the regs I think the car is too fast for clubman + class, but too slow to enter the club class - a lot of them run aero. All cars in these classes run the Pirelli trofeo R tyres which should be quicker than the AD08R's I've been using, more reson for it to be wrong for me to enter the clubman+ class.

It's basically a standard looking old Datsun, stock engine/box with bolt on stuff, updated suspension and brakes. The car's my baby and I don't want to change anything.. can't afford to anyway!

Amazingly the fwd clubman record is very close to my time in a stock rs Megane 250 cup but I'd much rather do it in the Datsun...

That top time of 45 from the evo is mind blowing! I've seen some of them in the mlr sprint and they're in another league!

There's a clubman and clubman+ class as well which is what I was looking at. They basically cater for factory standardish road cars, no mods needed to enter. My Datsun falls between this and club class, the latter being much quicker... the guy with the legacy is a bit of a legend, he's made his car that quick on a very limited budget, brilliant driver too.

From your earlier description of your 'Datsun' Id be surprised if it didn't comply with Club 4WD rules.
Club Pro then gets pretty mental, and is usually for tuners and the like.

A 45 is stunning, I recall watching Ollie Clark in the Gobstopper breaking into the 49's and that was pretty special.

It's 'clubman +' that I was looking at doing which is the class below 'Club 4WD' . Club 4wd class cars need a few safety mods but are way more modified than the Datsun; much lighter, much more power and much more grip because of the aero.

If mine had standard Turbo's it'd be eligible... and a lot slower lol!

The clubman plus record is 52.8 on the trofeo R's so wouldn't be fair me entering having gone quicker on slower tyres.

Yeah it's amazing what they can do with tin tops. Andy Forrest's Subaru is another one. In the mlr/Subaru/GTR sprint series he absolutely destroys the competition, always significantly faster than anyone else. That car looks like a group b rally car on steroids lol! Watching his in car vids it's so effortless too.

My first ever dry laps of Brands Indy (in a car) on yesterday's evening session produced a 54.39.

Member 'mpit' then took it out and got a 53.5, the git. Car has a 52 in it for sure.

E92 M3 with Intrax, front BBK and used slicks.

So, after the above trip some time ago, I went for my second trip at an evening session this week in a KTM X-Bow on AD08R tyres - this time on the Indy circuit. Only had one clear lap where according to the video the time was 54.1

The circuit still being new to me (I only did 20 laps) so I guess car and me could go much quicker.

Thanks. I have to agree wink
One also makes a lot of traffic light friends on the way home as everyone wants to know what it is, can't believe its a regular road car, etc.

That looks like a hoot. Sadly I was being precious about my GT3 at the time!

52.64 in the green Caterham yesterday. Glad we didn't collect the BMW that span at McLaren, close though.

That's a good lap for a 620r. Hopefully I can get mine there one day.

Not at all shabby! MPH terms it's barely 2-3 mph slower than my M3 at the braking points. That's a quick car.
