Who's going? Jenks is taking his 350i (after much sorting, he's been under it for most of the last two week-ends) and I'm taking the Cerbera out for its first track day.

We'll be there. Never been to a BHP day before, so interested to see how well organised it is.

I'll bring a PH fleace for recognition purposes - although, at time of posting, weather should be - see here.

Who gave that Wilson bloke my old school name then?
We`ll look out for you if were able to keep the eyes open after an early start and the M25 drag at 6 o`clock in the morning
See you then

Great link, I keep looking at it every hour to make sure it's still sunny on Friday

Dave, RAC website says 120 miles and 2 hours 11 mins, looks like 5.30 start at the latest, say dawn which is 5.10 ish. Wouldn't like to miss any track time.

Now it`s the morning after and what a superb day it was. The organisation was smooth and efficient, the marshals really friendly and helpful. First time with BHPTrackdays but certainly wont be the last. Only one bit of concern when a car was being towed off, the circuit remained open I think a few more flags should have been shown.

Yep - flags were poor in that you couldn't see the checkered and I don't think that the lights were used once, which is not normal - having said that, it was the circuit that provided the marshals and whatever the equivalent of the CofC is in trackday speak, so no slur on the organisers.

Other than that though, great day. Even with sooo many race cars there everyone was polite and respected the rules (although I suspect a few sneaky stopswatches were in operation).

Sorry again for my rather rapid approach out of the chicane Dave . Glad that you could have a chuckle at my expense though when I chose a rather bumpy ride into the infield rather than having to explain blue paint on the back of an otherwise pristine gold wedge.

Echo what was said above, the BHP boys look like they will become a force to be reckoned with on the Trackday scene.

Bad news John I'm afraid - looking at the data from yesterday (speed only, as obviously I don't have any lap times ), and that time I was following you at 130, I was only doing 110.

Looks like you've got one of those special TVR spedos fitted in the Cerb .

Still, a lovely car though.

Rich,

I must try harder and get 150 indicated, I must say if the tighness of my backside was anything to go by at the kink at the end of the start finsh straight, that was a good indicator of a true 130. The chap in the Porsche Turbo also had an indicated 135?

Great day, got to the bottom of my overheating brakes, sticking lower piston in the font left caliper!

Good luck in the race at Castle Combe.

Regards

John

Losing 20bhp in the process, and developing a tendency to turn left one would think .

Looks like the indicated 150 is well within reach now!

See you at the next one.
