Only odd in that they requested it, I'd think it most odd if someone turned up without one, but I certainly wouldn't tell them to

Take an invisible ink pen. And a rubber. That'll screw with everyone's mind.

Biro is a brand name. It's a ballpoint. teacher

A fountain pen would be an absolute must.
