Have i come across like i have a huge attitude? If i have i apologise, that really isn't me! I also never said i was worth my salt, if anything at the moment i am costing the company money because they have to take time out to train me.

According to big John above.
The headhunter comment was what got them I think.

Right back on topic, have you got a better idea of the office hotties yet?

I visit a recruiter in Fareham occasionally - only occasionally because much more often and I'd go blind.

Keep your mouth shut, listen, observe and be polite and humble and make note of anyone who gives you a hard time so you can sack the fkers when the time comes.
Seriously you go to work for a long time so learn to enjoy it and be an individual.
Very wise words.

I'll add "never turn down free advice, especially if it's the kind that makes you feel uncomfortable*"
*By which I mean "valid criticism is the best kind of free advice, and more criticism is valid than most of us would usually care to admit"

No you haven't at all.

You've even said you're on a basic of £21k for christ sake, for some reason VeeFour has a chip on his shoulder, no doubt a washed up salesman going nowhere in life.

Best of luck with the role.

Not in sales, never in sales.... And don't feel the need to make up unjustified job titles or rent prestige cars to create a facade for myself.

Oh dear.

You've changed your profile in the last hour, it used to say BDM, did someone give themselves an unjustified job title?! smile

You've got "Passat rage".

Engendered by other people having less soul-crushing jobs than you.

No, just changed roles and left my old title in place. New one is more accurate and descriptive of my industry specialism.

Thanks for the prompt that it was outdated, as I'd forgotten I'd put it in my profile.

If the OP was some jumped up typical recruiter cock thinking he's going to be sitting in a Ferrari in 6 months then I'd not only understand your negative approach, I'd be with you on it but it is clear the OP isn't like that at all.

Hence why nobody can understand why you're being such a .

Ok. I see your point, Original Poster.

Just shows how easy it is to form very differing impressions from forum postings... And how experience colours your views.

Anyway.... Mike, apologies if I've been a tt, I have obviously got a skewed perception from a couple of your posts, on reflection, I've jumped in a bit heavy handed.

Best of luck to you OP,everyone starts somewhere,so what if you've gone in in the deep end, don't fk it up and prove haters wrong!

You come across with a great attitude. Don't listen to the nay-sayers.

You've landed a great job in recruitment. Most recruitment consultants do not have a basic pay - they are on "commission only". You have a job with a guaranteed basic, so you have landed a job with a decent company.

Make the most of it.

I'm another to thank a recruitment consultant who, got me my first contracting role which saw me double the salary of my previous employed role. I'm discussing the next consultant/contractor role with her after the one I'm on.
