Training conundrum

If a company is putting on a training course for 2 days, Sunday and Monday, which is on the continent, so requires a flight on a Saturday afternoon - I'm fairly sure it's ok to decline.
However, is there anything in HR regulations that mean you can request the same training during a more suitable time frame (ie during the working week)?

It would be surprising to see this level of detail in a company policy. From your post it would seen that you're suggesting you're not happy about having to go in your own time, despite it being a development opportunity, in a new place and paid for? Why not talk to your boss and see what he says. Good luck!
Depends a lot on what else is going on in your job?
Are you in a career that will take off after the training? Are you happy / paid well / loyal to the company?
If so, take it on the chin and get on with it.
Hate your job, about to leave, not paid well. Kick up a fuss and see ow far you get with it. But when the time comes, your boss / HR will remember if you were awkward about it.
