The OH has been selected to do her proof of CPD evidence.

We are working through it now, she has been conscientious in doing it over the years, though it is scattered about a bit. Also, do they appreciate 'offline' activities too, as she (we) do quite a few non work activities that we can grab leadership, first aid, customer facing examples from too? Does anyone have any tips or examples as it's something she hasn't had to do before?

TIA

I'm ACCA (and qualified a long time ago) but based on discussions with a couple of current CIMA trainees the following might be useful;

Does she have an annual development programme agreed with her line manager?
Training Courses / conferences she's attended (ideally linked to ADP)?
Projects / working groups that she's either lead or played a major part in ?
Secondments to other teams?
Work shadowing or bring mentored by colleagues?

First aid courses will not count towards CIMA CPD

'CIMA doesn’t prescribe numbers of hours or units, we simply ask that you do as much as you need to remain professionally competent and meet your career goals.'

AIUI you still have to demonstrate how you've remained professionally competent etc.. They're just differentiating themselves from ACCA by saying they don't set a target for number of hours etc.

She is a bit more advanced in her career now than having mentors and plans written for her.

So last three years worth of proof all mailed in Sunday night, about a month early. She was emailed at 9.10 on Monday morning saying she had passed!

CIMA is such a scam. People do it to get the qualification to get a job. They rely (probably in most cases) very little on what they learned from cima to actually do their job

They pay several hundred £ a year to remain a member. This may be paid by their employer. They may get tax relief if they can be bothered with self assessment.

Cima offers some bullst networking events every so often. Some count as CPD. All are st

I say this as a qualified cima accountant who did not renew membership after completing the qualification with full sign off.
