Depends how much he nicked, if it's a couple of quid he's get told off or a small fine, if he's been doing it for years and they audit it he could be looking at a larger fine or time.

Really depends on how much and how long.

£80 at the time he was caught, but has this been going on for a while and he's just been caught on this occasion?

Any previous form.

This tends to have some bearing too, might be forst time there but has he been in police trouble before.

I'd add, although he walked how good was the evidence from the company.

All in all police might not bother and if he has gone are the company that bothered??

Thefts that include breach of trust, such as thefts by employees from employers, are taken very seriously by the Courts, so if the bloke is prosecuted, he would get a stiffer sentence than would be usual for a theft of whatever the total amount is.

PS: maybe get some better friends.

A friend of mine told me this morning that he quit his job as he was caught by his manager taking money out of his till. He told me he had a disciplinary meeting and walked out half way through telling them he quits, not sure that was the right thing to do.

This morning he told me he received messages from one of his colleagues informing him that the Police were involved. Does anyone know what he will be given by the Police, prison time, criminal record etc.

Cheers,

Lawrence
Two additional points:

(1) Resigning was definitely the right thing to do, as otherwise the employer could and would have summarily dismissed the fkwit.

(2) The police do not give out prison time or criminal records. This is not Mega City One, and Judge Dredd is a fictional character.

Yeah, they let me out early this time, but the Probation Officer says that if I fk up again they will throw away the key.

I agree, but the employer was going to sack the OP's, er, "friend", anyway, so quitting in a stroppy made no difference to the outcome. It will make no difference to his inability to get another job, or to the risk that he will have his collar felt.
