trouble with shifts and people dent realise is that you can be moved to meet business requirements. talk to your boss and explain the reasoning etc. companies tend not to that bad as they know shifts wreck havoc with peoples lifes. talk and see how it goes.

So you still get 10 days off a month, just a different 10 days to those you previously thought you would get.

And your employer has offered to let you take off any of the days you already have something arranged for as leave or by working extra hours to cover that time.

If they had told you tough, no leave, no building up the time, then fair enough you would be right to feel annoyed. However what they have offered is more than reasonable, so I am not sure what you are complaining about.

I'm struggling to see what the problems is, you want a particular day off, they are saying you can have it but will have to make the hours up elsewhere? Presumably you are still working the same amount of hour/days over the year despite the shift change? Or are you actually losing out on time off?

I also work shift, with periods of time off built into the pattern, we however get no additional holiday. If we want particular days off we have to swap amongst the other blokes, is that an option to you?
