Thanks but lots of that round here, also I prefer a structured thing where she has set hours so we can sort kid pick ups etc .

Mrs Puggit was highly technical, in IT, when she also stopped working in 2006.

She's started work this week at a local charity, as a part time marketing manager. 9.30-3pm - suits us fine for the school run!

Lol.

She won't want to go back to work after years of Jeremy Kyle and mom lunches.

Best way is to introduce it by the back door. Part-time for a year or so, and then start pushing for full-time.

My wife recently went back to work part time. Was a director at PWC in HR, which I always thought of as a bit of a fairy role. She set herself up as a consultant in HR and works 3 days a week on a contract basis. She does have to chase contracts but thus far is earning more 3 days a week than full time. If wifey is willing perhaps contract work / consultancy type roles might be an option. It is less secure but pay can make up for it (wife pimps herself out at 850 per day, London though).

She is constantly networking but with languages and decent experience your wife may be able to get something decent paying if willing to self motivate (which to be fair is hard). The mummies back to work sites are good, not only do they share job information but often do a lot of mentoring. Wifey is receiving (from senior Mummies at work) mentoring and giving it less senior roles. As a bloke I struggle with this concept, but it looks to pay dividends and have to defer to the results. Only downside is she's become a truckload more assertive at home and I'm having to pull my weight with the kids (which I love!).
