Redundancy - Carillion
Discussion
He doesn’t want to walk away though he wants to have his cake and eat it by taking a redundancy payment and then walking into the new job. If he has agreed a start date with the new company then he must resign with the given notice that his contract states. This will exclude him from a redundancy payment. The only way he could get one and start the new job would be to play a risky game of not resigning until after the payment and then trying to get out in time to start his new job. While a company is in administration it doesn’t mean that your contact is instantly ripped up and it’s a free for all
