You would be able to quote & get work to bid for jobs on the bid sites, is Euro demand too, although you'll have to be very careful as very few insurers actually offer proper cover for EU, its usually very basic CMR type cover at a payout of approx £800/tonne, so not ideal.

I tradeplated for a small firm for a year & been running in car transport now for well over a decade so have a fair idea, we didn't get transport paid then so was a lot of hitching & usually v long days, guys who've been it it a while do often set up on their own once they've made contacts, do have to graft but can make an ok living that way, but appreciate that's not what you are after.

For you perhaps do as my old neighbour did, local dealership work & he would deliver customer cars etc out & bring back in ex demos & out of lease etc, lots of retired fellas do that sort of thing, I often still give lifts for tradeplaters hitching & have a chinwag, but are far far fewer now that there used to be.
