It is fairly standard to ask the aggrieved party what they want the outcome to be. It gives them an idea of how hard they need to be. If Mr Robot was going all out 'I'm getting the police involved, it's common assault, she's not safe to be around....' then their approach/the outcome might be a lot different to ' she needs help, I want her to understand it's not acceptable..'

Ultimately, she will probably be given a final written warning for Gross Misconduct. I suspect that she isn't in work tonight either. It's usual in these cases to immediately suspend the two parties. In other words take them both out of the environment to allow an investigation to take place. In this case, it seems pretty cut and shut.
She is in work tonight. I'm off on full pay though.

This is odd. She should have been removed from work immediately and sent home pending an investigation. Which would be a short matter with a manager witness followed by termination for Gross Misconduct.

What DO you want to achieve from this ? You are in a position where you may be constructively dismissed by their failure to protect you. I would expect them to terminate her tomorrow, but still.

If you are in a union then call them now.
If kit then have a someone you trust in the meeting with you (either from work or not) to listen impartially and (if needed) ask question you may not want to directly such as why was the victim sent home the perpetrator allowed to remain at work?

OP: you are effectively letting her off. Why? Why does she deserve to be treated with any respect and compassion? She has shown you none. A physical assault in the workplace should result in dismissal, either instantly or almost instantly. No more, no less.

By the way, there's no such thing as a verbal assault.

Because none of this happened, the only place these things happen like this is inside FR’s head.

Surely not
Surely not from the man who has suffered so VERY much from the various workplaces he has worked at in the past. This poor man has been the subject of so much abuse and pure hatred it's very distressing to read.

I can only think that in the case our little treasure was attacked by this woman as a form of release

Perhaps her current job is wrecking her and is making her deeply, deeply unhappy. Perhaps she is constantly tired through odd sleeping patterns, constantly in a state of worry and has had multiple instances of wanting to turn around and just go home whilst driving to work. Hopefully she doesn't feel that the front end of a lorry has seemed inviting on a few occasions.

Perhaps though she has a wonderful home life, thankfully. Without that, maybe she would be in serious trouble.
Perhaps she is becoming a terrible person to live with..

Maybe she is ok at her job.maybe she is getting work done and has made a difference in the last year and a half she has been there. Maybe she doubts herself every day and is slapping Funky hard to work out her mixed up emotions

Who can tell
Who are we to judge certainly not I nor my friend Percy sat here quietly in his cage

Too many of his other posts are similar.

If you step back and think about it though, who gets assaulted at work for no reason, this assault is witnessed by a manager and they both continue to work their shift? Irrespective of how bad HR or their manager is, it just wouldn't happen.

Stop adding to the nonsense and bringing the forum down then, he's called you out, take ownership and stop wasting peoples time.

It isn't made up.

But techiedave will tell you otherwise. Because for some reason, he is following me around on this forum.

He also cried to the mods because I called him a nasty word.

Yes, called you out, anybody can read your previous posts and they are all make believe.

You are bringing it down by posting complete rubbish in various sections of the forum, attention seeking a new audience every time.

And yes there are, you being the prime example.

I posted on here because I have never been in this situation. I don't know how to handle something like this.

I didnt go all out with my manager earlier because me going off on one about the woman and asking for her to be sacked isn't me.

As for why they are even letting her continue, I have no idea either. I'm not a HR person.

for God's sake man - it's a humorous posting there's no need to get all woke about it. Get a sense of humour.
I could say exactly the same to you.
Words on a screen don’t carry the tone of voice not the cheeky grin and wink that would be present during FTF interactions.

Was it not clear when I told him to wear a wig and fight back that my tongue was pressed firmly into my cheek?! Alas! Words on screen...

Dear oh dear. What a sad, sad little individual you are.

You dont have to read my 'rubbish' you know. Surely an adult would just frown and move on.

I'm glad you care enough about me to visit this thread though.

Here’s an interesting angle, based on our ‘woke’ society...

Sounds more like it's based on your unhealthy imagination and prejudice than any real-word situation that could occur.
