Have any on here that were furloughed and then made redundant been re-hired to be put back on furlough?

No. A co-worker of mine asked and was told no chance.

I was furloughed April-July, and have now been refurloughed.
The three of us are working the "lockdown" on a rota (a third each), I've been in since the beginning and will be ending my stint, close of business Friday 13th, then I'll be put back on furlough until the end of the lockdown, unless we all of a sudden get busy (extremely unlikely), then I'll have to go back in.

Is that because it's going against the official furlough rules or is it the company saying that they don't want to?

There was an interesting discussion on the radio a few days ago about the furlough scheme was extended but there are all these people who were made redundant as it was originally ending in October and the extension wasn't announced in time for them to be kept on, awful if you are in that situation.

Companies are going to have to have made some tough decisions, unfortunately, and delay by the government hasn’t helped.

I imagine once you’ve made a redundancy payment there are various complications to taking someone back on. If nothing else, I think the payment would need to be repaid due to the tax implications...

Not sure if it’s allowed, we’d been paid our redundancy money on the Friday before the extension. It would have been nice to stay on but ultimately our roles were never going to be required in the medium term. Better to crack on finding something new and putting furlough and this year behind us.

Mr Lewis confirmed it...

Couldn't find anything on the HMRC site though but it's on there somewhere most likely

I’ve avoided all furlough schemes so far - does this extension tho mean I can be now placed on it or did I need to be in it previously?

Ah ok thanks, I’m thinking king out company is going down in flames anyway so wondered if to get on the scheme now and take another job elsewhere.

You can't unilaterally join the scheme. It is an employer led scheme.

Yes I know, it’s just if they say they need to cut staff numbers by furlough I’d rather go on it and keep someone working like a young lad or someone that can’t really afford not to be at work.

Has anyone noticed that HMRC are producing a list of all businesses claiming furlough on the second scheme?

I've been furloughed for this period from 5th Nov - 3rd Dec (hopefully going back then anyway).

I've only just received any details of this as I work for a lazy unprofessional business and the letter I've been sent looks ridiculously generic like they've just printed off the Gov website. They couldn't even be bothered to put what my current salary is or what I'll get paid on furlough, simply that I'll get 80% of my salary.

Anyway, it does say this at the end and I wondered if the bit about repaying the company through future paychecks if the Gov want their money back is the norm?:

My colleague who is still in work has also suggested that if he or the other remaining worker get sick I will be expected to immediately come off furlough and cover them, though again this isn't mentioned in my letter and I'm not sure how it would work. I assume they would be required to give me sufficient notice of a return to work (not sure what sufficient would be but ideally more than the hour or two I'll.nondoubt get).

I do to be fair.

It's a golf club and they're ridiculously old school/lazy about anything to do with paperwork, contracts and so on. It works in our favour sometimes as things can be fairly relaxed and flexible but having worked for quite a few companies, big and small, who operate efficiently and professionally I do struggle with the whole 'not having a fking clue what's going on' side of things that some of my colleagues, who've been here many years longer than me, just don't seem to give a st about.

The claw back clause is a, copy and paste, I had one exactly the same that my useless employed copied from gov. UK. I refused to sign it so they removed it.

When I was furloughed in April I had an email off ‘the management’ saying ‘reply with yes saying you agree to pay cut and being furloughed, etc’ ignored it and they did it anyway. Makes no difference, they do what they want and use the virus as an excuse.

Don't sign it. You get no say in whether you're furloughed or not anyway, it's up to the company so you don't have to agree anything. All signing that will do is screw you over in the future.
