My daughter A has been told to self isolate for 14 days as someone in her class has tested positive.

Yet my daughter B goes to the same school and is obviously in close contact with A

My wife teaches at another school

I don't understand how this is supposed to help anything unless we as a family, all self isolate (which isn't the requirement)

What do you think you should do?

Aside from that, what are the school's rules about sending the non-isolating child back in to school?

Unless daughter A is symptomatic, daughter B is at a low enough risk of infecting the class that it’s not considered an issue. If daughter A becomes symptomatic, daughter B should stay off until a negative test result is received.

From the School's point of view - either don't isolate them as there is minimal risk or isolate both of them as there is a real risk

As stated the School require one to isolate for 14 days

The child who started this chain was asymptomatic as are 45% children so it seems pointless
