Ever thought about becoming a train driver?
I would love to be a train driver but the opportunities are not there. Too many people go for the roles and it’s a long process to go through and then find out you’re successful. I’d like to drive the coal trains or even the passenger trains would be good for me. I might contact my local rail company and ask for some pointers. You never know i may catch their attention.

Takes about 12-18 months, best bit is, you don't pay for training, they pay you.
Most companies you registar to go into a 'Talent Pool' whatever that is, like this
https://www.firstgroupcareers.com/vacancy/hull-tra...
Find out your local companies and look on their website.
Most Freight companies have depots through the UK, the main ones are
DB Schenker
GB Railfreight
Freightliner
Colas
DRS
Don't set your hopes on coal trains, thats the past, before I came to my current company I was offered a freight job transporting aviation fuel, ended up not taking it and stayed with passengers.

Not having a pop, just saying that you've got to fight your way through and make opportunities for yourself.
