Expenses advance repayment request
Discussion
Basically the OP had an interest free loan for 11 years, and thanks to inflation, is going to pay back about 30% less in real terms than they borrowed.
As suggested a few times, I'd be making the employer a reasonable payment plan offer in a way that doesn't make it sound like a negotiation, and asking for the bank details to set up the payments.

Thanks for all the info and comments, I still haven't received a letter even though the pdf attached to Fridays email was dated 17th March. I have a bit of an issue with my pension as well, they enrolled me in a new scheme in January despite me asking not to be as it wasn't worth it for 1 month. This hasn't yet been closed down so I cannot transfer it. Guess at some point I am going to have to make contact, the money in the pension is slightly more than the float
I don't think you will get a physical letter. An emailed PDF is enough.
Either go radio silent and see if they persue it, then claim the email went to spam, didn't get read etc.
Then, if you do get chased, say you don't remember it, can they send you all the documentation as a first question to put the ball back in their court.
Then ask them to take it out of your final pay packet just to make the point they are behind on their admin.
Make them work for it!!

I’d just ignore for now, given the cheek of the request.
There’s nothing to stop them making things more formal, then consider your options. Personally, I’d probably then just repay at that point, it over a reasonable period.
When tackling them on the pension issue, if you need to email them, do it from a different personal account.

I'd just wait it out. You don't need to move that money for a while yet I'm guessing - so just wait for the 6years to expire on their "debt" claim. Ignore them in the mean time. Then move the money from the pension pot.Gassing Station | Jobs & Employment Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
