Looking to move into a Junior IT project manager type role
Discussion
I currently manage a few projects (both hardware and software based), alongide my general web development role and I want to transition into a full time IT based project manager role.
I'm looking to work for a company that will help me towards accreditation (prince etc.).
Do you guys have any tips/thoughts as to how I can go about this?

My mate does this for Barclays. I used to work there myself.
That would normally be my advice get your foot in the door with a large bank. All these kind of roles tend to be advertised through agencies which is unfortunately a necessary evil.
Problem at the moment is the banks are getting rid of all the project manager roles (both permanent and contract) due to the credit crunch. Projects are on hold for a while. It will pick back up but you'll just have to keep trying and ride out the storm with the rest of us.
