Have heard that my partner may be having a paycut via a contract renewal (dropping from £21k per year down to £12k per year before tax.

If she refuses to sign the contract, what would the repercussions be ? Does she have any protection in the form of redundancy or can they simply say her original contract is null and void?

She has worked their for 10 years so obviously redundancy would be the prefered option to the paycut.

Thanks

This may sound stupid but, is she a contractor?

No, she has been directly employed by the same company for ten years smile

(although it has changed names several times due to it been bought and sold between different media groups)

I would have thought halving your salary was a case for constructive dismissal.
