I know a tea taster at Twinings.... awesome!
No such thing. Or do you know a buyer?
ok a master blender then....

Again, no such actual job exists. They're called buyers as they're responsible for actually buying the tea from all around the World. Tasting being an essential skill so they know what teas to buy to make the blends. It's a fascinating subject acutally.

Just have a think about how they make English Breakfast tea. There is no recipe to follow, only an end product to compare against, the flavour of which is ingrained on the memory of all involved. Tea production (and therefore availability) is seasonal, so you can not always get the same variety and quality all year round. Hence the need to buy and blend teas from all around the World to get the same end product. The EB you buy in February is likely to made of completely different tea than the box you buy in September, but it still tastes exactly the same.

So point is, to call someone who does that job "a tea taster" is doing them a bit of a disservice. "Blender" perhaps, but they also have to negotiate on price, quantity and quality to secure the right teas. Knowing what you need is the easy part!
I would never have guessed that that much effort went into tea.
I know! You really think they would publicise this more, especially as certain tea companies just take machine harvested Argentinian and Brazilian as their main bulk, make it to a formula and peddle it out all year round from a massive stored harvest. But apparently being part of the "Rainforest Alliance" is what tea consumers actually want. Despite the fact that tea isn't even grown in the fking Rainforest. And that there was already a group promoting ethics in the tea industry, of which Twinings was a founding member. A triumph of marketing over substance if ever I saw one.

A close friend of mine races Indycar. I was even lucky enough to be his spotter in 2006, when he was racing Indy lights.

Coolest job?

250k a week for 90 minutes work, when you fancy it that is, the ability to say what you want about your management and mess them about without fear of redundancy and a bulletproof contract.

Even cooler given that Wayne Rooney would be working in McDonalds if he wasn't any good at football.

My dad flew fast jets.

I do something much less cool, that gets portrayed as cool in films. Like others, I don't really get to talk about it though.

Apparently at 6'5 you'd lose your kneecaps ejecting from a fast jet. I'd still have flown them if they'd have let me!

My bro was a pro-snowboarder for about 5 years

He still lives in the Alps, runs a bar, snowboards for cash and drives a Kawasaki ZX10R

and even with my job I'm jealous... smile

My brother in law works for Bridgestone tyres, doing various tests to tyres as they come of the F1 cars during races. This of course means that he's there in the pits at every race.

I used to be a design engineer for Williams F1 (up until 2005), not a cool job a such, but I loved it. I regret leaving the place every day, but sometimes family must come first

I was in the same class as the 'other' son of the ex-president of Iraq, who has shuffled off this mortal coil.

He was certainly no friend though frown
