I know that all these 'Career' pages are designed to make you want to work for the company but seriously, have you seen the benefits offered to staff working for Facebook!? Looks like a very good company to work for!

Paid Time Off (PTO)
We know that passion and commitment has to be paired with rest and balance. We offer 21 days of paid vacation to make sure you take a break once in a while.

21 WHOLE DAYS!!!!!! WOWSERS!!!

Software world has moved on it's now common for US companies to give 20 days holiday and UK to offer 25. So 21 days seems normal to me.

The free food would be a massive advantage.

I wonder if they actually pay well?

I worked for an American capital markets software company for 5 years. US employees only got 20 days including public holidays, whereas we in the UK got 25 to start, increasing one per year to a max of 30, excluding public holidays.

The free food was great, we would order once or twice weekly from Ocado and the budget was more than enough to buy breakfast, lunch and snacks.

The reason American companies offer employee benefits such as food 24/7, on-site gyms, creches, concierge services and the like, is to ensure that you have no excuse to leave your desk.

Ever.

Hmm, they're hiring for a role similar to what I do presently. I think I'll have a closer look at that..!

This is ideal.

We need a few PHers (real ones, not namby ones that use facebook) in there to shut faceache down from the inside.

Geek up on everything before you apply! You'll get a telephone interview, and if you impress, you'll get a paid trip out there for an interview wink

I was out on the piss with Facebook's Head of International Business Development a few weeks ago. I remember when he was a grunt like me (dotcom boom, Caribbean cruises for all employees, stock going up tens of dollars a day, and all that malarkey) and since then he's been MicroSoft's Global Marketing Manager for smartphones, then Google's Head of Distribution and then Google's Head of New Markets.

I'm a nob so I, erm, haven't done anything like that smile

But is he happy? Is he? Of course he bloody is!

Its an American company, its not unusual in the US to get two weeks per year. Most of my friends living in the US would give anything for our standard 25 days.
