Nope, did loads of science and finance-related maths/stats at uni. Nowadays 90% of my time is spent with office politics, and working with ar8se-holes and c8nts. With hindsight i should have trained to be a gynacologist.

I seriously hope mine never does! I hated my degree (maths) but have to say it does help open many doors.

All my friends that studied Engineering now do something unrelated
As Homer Simpson said "if it's too hard to do, then it's not worth bothering" wink

Sadly though engineering can do that to folk as the pay is ste for the level of work you do and having grafted seriously hard for years you then find that you share the same job title as the coffee machine repair man LOL.

But hey I'm an engineer through and through so naturally chose a degree to fit my career aspirations.

I did an engineering degree and I'm still in Engineering 15 years on as are most of the people I did my degree with. I will say that apart from lawyers and doctors, I dont meet that many people who have done the same thing!

^^ That's because we are a very special and rare breed wink

You're right though, I don't ever meet engineers and most of my mates are finance/insurance/business types. In fact at dinner parties with new people I hate saying I'm an engineer as eyes tend to go glassy and people turn off.

In fact an old colleage felt the same so said to a new face (at a party) that he was a transvestite dancer, just to liven things up. What he did not realise that the chap he was talking to had a mate.......who did exactly the same thing LOL. Suffice to say he just admits to being an engineer nowadays!

I did Law, and it's probably for the best that I didn't persue that particular avenue.

I'm now an accountant, which means that I'm both stuck up and mean.

Incidentally I'm still friends with six of my fellow students and only one of us went on to become involved in the legal profession. One works in New Media, one in planning, one sells gas turbines and another is a full time mum. I think it's the kind of degree that attracts those of us without a grand life plan...

Studied engineering and am still an engineer 16 years on...

Considered a few chances of 'something completely different' that have come my way over the years, but I still get a lot out of it (even if it can be the most frustrating of careers - especially in the good old UK!).

If anyone asks I just say 'I'm an engineer, it's boring' and no more questions seem to get asked. Suits me......

Not really...........

I got expelled from boarding school because I stayed out the night with my girlfriend. I didn't bother going back to school, college or University and left with a hand full of O Levels and made my own luck. Worked through e ranks as a young sales executive, progressed into sales management and now have been sole owner and MD of a reasonably sized exhibition company I started 14 years ago.

And I am not a porn star, so no in my case.

Another engineer here. Didn't really get on with anything else, and got tired of living in London, so thought I'd better do something I thought was fun and live in the country.

Job title changed to "Systems engineer" from "electronics engineer" fairly quickly, but that was mainly so I could be a mad inventor wink
