What kind of job requires you to put a 'personal interests' section in your CV?
This section is generally reserved for candidates who struggle to fill two pages on their CV, when limited just to professional or academic achievements. But slip ups are great, I interviewed a girl fresh out of university who, apart from her 'great leadership skills and business experience' (not sure how you secure these skills at 23 without having worked before) went on to add 'I have a great memory, was a member of the debating society, keen horsewoman and have a good memory....'

Re interests, most application forms have a section and I doubt writing "Not relevant to my application" is going to win favours.

My ex-wife used to work in an employment agency that sent out forms for prospective candidates to fill in. One of the questions was "What is your main ambition in life and how do you plan to achieve it?"
One of the more memorable answers was "My main ambition in life is to own a convertible Suzuki Vitara. Last year I achieved this ambition"

The spelling may not have been that good though...
I have had one that stated "re-fencing is available on request".
While chefing i saw one that said "still have 9 functioning fingers and a new found respect for sharp knives"
The most memorable i saw was a 3/4 page CV for a late 20's lad that basically stated: Address, which school he went to (but no qualifications) and a single job position with a company held for 11 years. The cover letter was basically a description/essay of how he had started as a lacky and graduated to head of sales for a medium sized company in 10 years and was now looking for a new challenge. It worked.
