How'd you feel about Ghana? I'm currently here involved in telecoms myself, but there are a lot of engineering projects going on over here at the moment - Roads/Sewerage/Power/Telecoms/Oil all of which involve expats to greater or lesser degree.

I was contacted directly, but you could try getting on the books of some of the recruitment agencies that specialise in international recruitment and there's some good groups on Linked In as well.

May be worth registering your cv with the guys at www.commsresources.com as I have actually met their UK based consultants over here and know of some placements they've made.

Interesting subject. It seems to me there are loads of opportunities if you are into heavy engineering such as power engineering or oil and gas projects but can't seem to find anything for electronics engineers. Or have I been looking in the wrong place ?

Are you qualified to work on military jets? If so the rewards are huge. No idea how to get into it though.

There's also plenty of work advertised on Jobserve for Mobile basestation installers in Afghanistan &c

similarly difficult to break into the heavy eng. if you don't have the experience. i applied for a job in fecking iraq and didn't even get a reply. how many people are seriously applying for engineering jobs in iraq?
