Hi guys,

I'm applying for the above role at my current company (For those not familiar with it, it's like a junior project-manager role) and was wondering if anyone could give me any tips on good skills I can list on my cv / for an interview? Obviously I'm not going to lie and say I can do things I can't, but I'm very bad at extracting what I do on a daily basis and wording it to apply to a particular role.

Just for background sake my current role is a mix of helping manage a team, process improvements, offshoring, order tracking, escalations, managing the teams workloads etc.

Post up your CV so we can have a look. Also, is the role more technical or administrative?

More admin then technical, although there are a few odd technical bits, it's a very varied role I currently do.. This is what I already have on my cv for my current role, pre-editing for project co-ord role (I previously applied for a reporting specialist role, so it's a bit geared towards that):

Responsibilities:

• To pro-actively seek out process improvements where possible; constantly assessing how the team function and looking at making improvements to current processes that will benefit the business or its customers. To always be thinking outside of the box.
• Successfully designed & created a database for the team to use on a daily basis to track all orders. Database includes queries for colleagues to run reports based on user defined parameters.
• Responsible for running reports for various teams across the departments on a weekly basis. The figures from these reports are then analysed and reports generated from them. The reports are then combined together into a presentation pack that is sent out to senior managers on a weekly basis.
• Identified available resource within an offshore team that can take on additional work. I have then trained the team offshore to allow more resource onshore. We have since taken on additional work from other teams in the department, without requiring additional headcount.
• Responsible for the day to day running of the team. This includes being the first point for all escalations, allocating work to the team, and where needed, speaking to colleagues about performance issues.

slot words in CV like 'successfully', 'pioneered', 'invaluable'. Use superlatives when referencing your achievements.
