Got a call from the boss today. 2% payrise this year. Inflation is 4.4%.

I also got a mail from HR - Healthcare scheme price is increasing by 19.2%.

WTF?

WTF indeed. Payrise likely to be 0%. Same as last year. And the year before.

But, working in the private sector, I am thankful, not bhing about it.

0%, same as the past 5 years.

The joys of working for a company that only managed $5.26 billion net profit last quarter I guess.

0%.....which I can add on to the -10% paycut I had last year in order to still have the job that I want.

I love the construction industry.

I started this one at the end of last year, mixed feedback then too as you'd expect.

0% for me this year - the second year of a two year pay freeze. This follows on from one year when I had to take a 10% pay cut to keep my job, followed by a big increase in my pension contributions. Hence why I don't have a great deal of sympathy for the public sector workers who are now feeling the pinch.

I'm not bhing - just discussing as you do on any discussion forum.

It hit home as the health care had gone up by 19.2% and the pay rise was 2%.

Not had a pay rise for three years. I am noticing the rising cost of living quite a lot but looking on the brightside at least I still have a job.
