Only had mine for 10 days and 400 running in miles. It's such a great package. It does so many jobs so well (albeit none perfectly, obviously) it's quite uncanny. Can't wait for its first track day and Spa + Ring in October. Better stock up on from Supersports as it will no doubt chew them, unless I can extract a deg or two of front camber...
look after it on track Nick......not built for track and can go pop very quickly if it is driven hard.nickfrog said:

A degree or two of camber would be a welcome addition to the M135i, but sadly it's not possible in the same way as it was with older BMWs (where the alignment pin could be pulled out), but then I don't think BMW really intended for the M135i to be run on track.Agreed, again. But for the occasional track event, I can't justify a Cat as 3 cars is enough. I have been trying to resolve that equation for 20 years though...The M4 front kinematics seem to fit the M135i so there is hope but I am waiting for long term feedback from those who have tried...

I'd seen that too and if I loved my M135i then I'd give it a go, but I absolutely intend to change my M135i as soon as it's financially possible and as soon as my son is old enough to clamber into the back of a coupe without falling down/over/out, which should be about the same time. jon- said:
Without a diff, there are many many cars I'd choose over my M135i to track.
Jon, there are many many cars I'd choose over my M135i to track, even with a LSD.I am quite happy with the limitations however, in the context of just 3/4 events a year, 2 of which (Ring) being at 7/10ths. The reality is that for the exercise (dropping the kids to school, getting there, have a bit of fun, drive back and load the car with wine and cheese) it takes some beating new at £26k. The Supersport are surprisingly tractable without a diff actually from 3rd gear, and in the wet, I'll just have to short shift if not. It's not a race, is it ? ;-).

Thought I'd bump this thread as I had my first true 'lol' moment in the M135i last night.
Long story short, an RS5 had been gunning for a race from a few set of traffic lights in London last night, possibly showing off to a girl in the passenger seat. We finally got stopped in a NSL area next to each other, so I thought I'd see if I could actually launch mine properly (manual).
I somehow fluked a perfect launch, flat changed into second and our wing mirrors were pretty much perfectly level until I lifted at the top of second gear as we'd hit the speed limit. I've no delusions if we'd continued to push he would have started pulling a gap, but his sheepish impression did make me laugh at the next set of lights. He probably should have used launch control (if they have it)
Just had a similar play with an RS5 on my way into work, both between roundabouts in MK though, so no standing starts. He was pulling out a little lead initially, but not as much as I think he was expecting. Think it made both our commutes a little more entertaining.Long story short, an RS5 had been gunning for a race from a few set of traffic lights in London last night, possibly showing off to a girl in the passenger seat. I think my brakes need attention. One of the rears has a band of rust like the pad isn't engaging properly, and the front nearside has a rather large blue band like it's binding. Booked in next week, I suspect the pad runners in the caliper might need greasing as I had something similar occur before on another car.

They are proper fast, and I have never used launch control.
Was out in the CSL a couple of weeks ago, a M135i was following. Cue some respectful fun. He was glued to the bumper.
They are about the same in a straight line drag, but the 135i gets found out on a track. Amongst other things, looks like the short wheelbase, no LSD, high centre of gravity and rolly suspension. Was out in the CSL a couple of weeks ago, a M135i was following. Cue some respectful fun. Those things just make the M135i so frustrating as it approaches its limits. I think all that's needed to make the M135i better would be:e.g. here, encountering one at Snetterton https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X324eNn9HUU&fe...
LSD.
Allow the default setting of driving mode to be set and recorded and be used every time you turn the ignition on and not affected by things such as cruise control.
Much firmer ARBs.
Supercharger instead of a laggy turbo (that should improve response whilst also improving exhaust noise too).
Less silly warnings - why does it bong when the ignition is switched on with the door open? I know the ignition is on, I pressed the 'on' button.
Oil temp gauge
If it had all that, it would be close to my perfect car.
Have a query regarding fair wear and tear when leasing. I had some sort of freakish accident where a stone must have shot up and hit my rear tail light, the result leaving an almost bullet like hole the size of 5 pence piece. I'm guessing this could be a replacement unit jobbie before handing back, any thoughts?
I thought it was always better to sell the car privately rather than handing it back to the lease company.
I am looking to buy one privately btw. Auto, 5door. Good spec with pro nav and heated seats at a minimum. Adaptive susp preferred. Send me a PM if you are selling...
