Excuse the off topic but does anyone have, or know of, a dogleg gearbox that's for sale please?

Here I'd the build sheet. Shows it to be an EUR car.
I finally received my BMW Classic Certificate. Makes for interesting reading. My car is clearly a Euro Spec given the parts information and dog leg box etc. However it was delivered to Japan. I am guessing that early Japan imports were actually EU cars and perhaps they sent a specific Japanese version later? I am checking with the Classic Dept for more information.

£100K Evo 2 fresh out of restoration. Looks like someone spent a fair chunk of money with RS Garage in Portugal.

Wow what stunning work and attention to detail. I wonder how much they charged for this.

Needs some love. Interesting VLM connection though. (plus wants putting back to LHD and painting white again)

Is this a way of inflating its value like the Ferrari version of this?

It would be interesting to drive since it has a faster rack than the original RHD conversions. I suspect there would be little to no difference now. Does seem that even in the UK though, the originality factor of LHD still counts.
The pics do make it look a little tired paint wise .

Looks like an expensive way of getting all the information that is available free from the BMW VIN decoders on the internet.

The certificate provides the engine number and place of delivery.

I just emailed: info.grouparchiv@bmwgroup.com

They confirmed the engine/chassis/dates/delivery for free!

I fired off an email to, just to see if there might be something I didn't know about my car already?

Any thoughts on the ex VLM car that's for sale in the classifieds? I quite like it but definitely needs to be painted white again and revert to LHD.

I am pleased to have a nicely presented certificate for my car. Its hardly a big expense in the scheme of things.

Believe the asking is £65k for car and £25k for the plate.

The VLM car, I'd return it to its Touring car copy look, a part of the cars interesting history,

Too much money for me though, sold mine for £7500 ... 🙈 ... Regretted it the moment I saw it leave my driveway.

Whilst good cars will always be worth a premium. No one with a brain will be buying these overpriced sheds "Recent overhaul by Grosvenor" Maybe I'm out the loop a bit but who are Grosvenor?
