It has undoubtedly seen some track time. Non Evo brake ducts, performance exhaust and R type tires are not fitted for no reason.

It looks nice, but it has lots of non-standard parts, seats touch points, splitter, gurney, exhaust and no ice all indicate an ex track car which has been put back to road config with parts which are easily sourced.

Typical car trader waffle!

They can't even spell Recaro correctly FFS!

Looks nice though, other than the baggy retrim.
Sellers claim that the seats are sport evo 'high backs' is also incorrect, they are not the same seats.

Seller also claims the car is "completely original".

It is anything but.

Unless all the differences were factory optioned. nerd

I checked the vin which I got from the reg and its just an AK05 215 car built to German/Austrian spec.

Interestingly it comes up at an M3 EVOLUTION when you do a reg check and date of first reg is 1st fully 1998. Clearly whoever imported it in 98 cheekily added the EVOLUTION bit when filling out the DVLA forms!

Always craved after one and was looking the last while, after seeing what a reputable dealer was offering and the price I am now out.
Just crazy money for cars that have not been that looked after and are wanting a good bit of work.
There is no doubt due to the rarity these will sell and most likely go up in value but there is something worrying about the condition and value put on some at the moment.

Forgive the odd request but does anyone who frequents this thread have a front hub I could borrow for a couple of days please? It's needed for CAD drawing in relation to making a new brake kit. If anyone has such a drawing / measurements they would probably be equally good.

I have a cad drawing (.dwg) of a disc bell. I will try and dig it out later tonight.

Even though its the worst colour wink

Looks great and if I was looking for a god one that's the sort of thing I'd want.

Not the overpriced ste we've seen of late. Yes it's expensive but it's not mental money

Don't think Alpina rims look right on an M3 though.

E28 ones are the same bar the ABS trigger ring and are cheap and easy to get from ECP.

Replying to my own post.
Car I was looking at now reduced by £5k from a week ago, very reputable dealer selling.
Disappointing that they would have had no qualms in taking big money then suddenly dropping the price by near 10% and probably still big profit on what they will eventually sell it for.
Just shows no one really knows the current values and the stupid prices being put on cars.

Even through e30 M3's seem to be going up and up, the classic car market in general is not what it was 18 months ago.....friend of mine who owns one of the leading auction houses was telling me they are getting lots of ferraris, air cooled porsches etc wanting to be consigned to sales, that are average/decent cars owners cant shift themselves in the classifieds, hes not taking them in as the owners have unrelistic expectations of their values, as they've bought them in the last 3 or 4 years at the "old" prices.

Another one going to auction this month. Not especially clean under the bonnet, and not sure what that ABS sticker is on the clocks ? I'd guess similar money to the one just sold at Silverstone auctions.

Didn't sell. Apparently got to 30K and stopped. You can buy it via the auction direct for £38K.

Word from Auction was its a car that wants restoring.

Also at the show was a car that had allegedly had 300 hours and £20k worth of restoration. Its by a company called

Rolling shell with engine and gearbox. No mention of an interior so I assume it's missing.

Very poor ad with not much info and my biggest hate of all....no price!!!

Any buyer would need to check if the engine is matching numbers.

It would be interesting to see what the seller wants for it.

£15K asked for the body shell.

£10K for engine and gearbox.

If the shell isn't patched up with filler and is done right with a VIN still associated with it, I think that's okay.

Engine is punchy. Boxes are £1500 - 2500 (if rebuilt), and engines that are an unknown quantity are £5k.
