IIRC, been posted previously and unsurprisingly it's still 'for sale', and no doubt will be for a long time to come at that asking price.

Standard dealer thinking, that having an E30 M3 for sale means you have to stick it up for crazy money first, with the illusion of it being a bargain investment opportunity to be jumped on. I wonder if the dealer would genuinely choke when someone says they like the car, but they £100K off the asking price.

How would you value a Europameister, they are the rarest of M3,s with only 148 built. However they are just a standard M3, they just have nice interiors. Would you value as a normal M3 or would they be worth more, as an EVO is. Hard to tell as I've never seen any for sale.

That is the back half of this.

My old car, and was complete when I sold it. frown

Look at the towing eye, and how it is pulled out of the shell.

I did that rolleyes

Sadly now no more, wonder if/when it'll turn up again, in another shell?

Sorry to go a bit off topic but I have to ask, Mark do you ever consider punting on the E30 because of it's worth and picking up an E46 M instead?

I'd love to own both cars to try them out but realistically I will never own an E30 M now due to values of the cars and parts. Far too many other cars that could be bought instead.

Occasionally, yes, although a few miles behind the wheel usually sorts that out. smile

If, and it's a very big if, I was going to sell it would need to be probably more than some would say it's worth. An E46 M3 is next best for me, but a decent one is then going to need suspension, brakes, seats, harnesses and carbon air box added to make it mine.

I'd personally say the model is worth very little extra over the same condition stock car, mainly because its just a badge model with little difference.
The seller here seems to think the Evo moniker adds £100K .....

I'd agree with that. I would not pay any extra for a Euromeister over a bog standard E30 M3.

SE In Italy, 85K mileage

Initial thoughts

Bumper looks quite stone chipped (or possibly badly resprayed)
M3 badge is not in correct place
What on earth is going on with that centre console?
No mention of History
6 button computer?
Side bolster baggy

Bet they want similar money to the Parkway car (which in fairness looks a better - if not somewhat pricey - bet than this one)

6 button computer was standard on the M3 with the 13 button optional on most.

The centre console is for a dealer fit Air con system and you can also see the single AC switch without re-circ button which the dealer fit systems had.

No air con pipework in the engine bay so its most likely been removed as wasn't a great system and you can't get parts for it any more.

Having owned both at the same time, I'd keep the E30 over the E46. Whilst I found the E46 a far more capable car, it was far less exciting.

I thought the AC was just the button with the snowflake on it? Or was this the factory fit option which I assume was a) more efficient and b) still able to get parts for? (r12 not r134a though I'd imagine given age)

(Another SE)

Didn't know there was a weird "finned" centre console option laugh

Factory fit AC has a double button, (AC on and recirculation buttons) as you posted a pic of and yes you can still get parts for it. I have retro fitted this factory type A/C to about 15 E30's now.

The 'finned' centre console as you put it was the vent outlet for the Diavia made 'dealer fit' AC so basically if an E30 (or E34) didnt have A/C as a factory ordered option, it was a lesser system that could be fitted at BMW dealers when the car was PDI'd.

For example, BMW dealer has pre ordered brand new car as showroom stock minus A/C, a customer wants a car to the that spec but wants A/C so when its sent though the workshop to have its Pre delivery inspection plus any other items the customer wants fitted such as audio equipment (all of it was dealer fit Blaupunkt, Pioneer or Panasoinc back then), a car phone or mud flaps etc, it was usually then that the Diavia 'dealer fit' A/C was installed the varying levels of quality.

You can get the parts for these systems any more and I've removed a few of them now and quite frankly they were often fitted poorly no doubt on a time based incentive to get it in quick!

Hi guys. Newbie here..

I have to say phenomenal knowledge amongst you guys. I have been looking at the e30's you have been talking about, e.g mantis car, parkway specialists etc and would not have noticed some of the things you know about these cars..

I am looking for a well kept e30 - evo2 / sport evolution / ravaglia etc would be nice. Open to a standard e30 M3 whereby I would modify.. have a few cars I may p/x

Just wondering if anybody here can help at all?

Many thanks in advance

It looks bloody awful inside with all that chequer plate and those tacky door cards. Bin it all and fit the Sport Evo interior that was for sale recently though and it'd look so much better. I'd be inclined to take the cage out too, unless you really did want a track car, in which case fit better race seats etc and a period steering wheel etc. As it is, the whole interior just looks cheap and has a bit of a Max Power track car feel about it. I know it has a Cat D marker against it but there are no MOT history horrors and given the engine refresh (which is never cheap!) I think you could do a lot worse at the price. As it stands though, the interior mods will just put people off.

Just my opinion obviously. smile

not sure if this is going to work- but i got emailed pics of basically what i want - sport evolution copy - in red - and some pics of the restoration in spain.. car in germany - but advertised at a whopping 93k euro

so I have some amateur questions:

1. if i bought an m3 - who would i go to project the restoration? - munich legends ? anyone in particular? who is the best?/split jobs?
2. where can you source a SE interior? will it all look like cheap copies?
3.if i want it to be a modern drivable car - what things would you upgrade and to what on the original car? e.g. what shocks etc?
4. estimated costs of restoration ? I would want rust proofing etc.. and then just drive the darn thing! no garage queen here!
