Hard to say without knowing condition but MOT advisory and pics suggest it's a pretty tired example. A bare shell sold for £15k recently so I think I would break rather than sell in the 20's but hopefully this one will get the love it deserves.

£32k cheapest M3 we have seen in a while, also know of another one changing hands for £27k, one for £25k and one for £33k, a sign of the way the market is going? nothing seems to be selling...
There's a few contradictions in that advert.

where are these other ones advertised mate?

i think this £32g one was in a couple of auctions and did not sell because of the condition of it and torn seats etc but have not seen it myself in person. If it is the same one I think it was from scotland and was advertised with a different font number plate before.. £32 not bad for a project i guess?

Don't know about the seats, but yes, it's this one. D694 GCD

Pretty sure it wouldn't have got an MOT with those number plates...

Depending on how much you're looking to borrow a personal bank loan is probably the cheapest option.

The owner documented the build on s14.net https://s14net.vbulletin.net/forum/s14/e30-m3-gall...
Very nice build and not long completed . Wonder why he's selling up ?

I'm not sure I actually want to sell now really - it's a bit too mint to thrash routinely, and I'd quite like a GT3. I have a '36 race car which get's properly used, and whilst the E30 is a beautiful thing I wonder where it fits in to my garage. If I don't sell it, I'm going to carry on with it's development and build a proper motor for it.

Now that's a plan.

Has there been much interest? Given how much it would cost to build another, it seems pretty well priced to me.

Plenty from different parts of the world interestingly. But as ever there is a huge delta between;

1. What people say they are willing to pay if they had the cash/were in the market
2. What owners & the market "say" these cars are worth
2. What people will actually reach into their pocket for and part with their cash

I agree that my car is cheap for the condition & spec, however it's a limited market. If it were a road car, I'm sure it would have sold as a nut & bolt resto car.

On that basis, stuff it - I'll build a 2.5 over winter and do some more competition in it. The Mezger will have to wait, until it can be a stablemate for it's older companion.

Excellent. So few E30 M3 see a track nowadays and it's a shame how few people will get to see the kind of sight that I did when I first saw (heard!) an M3 in anger. I know that all sounds a bit corny and cliche but it was 25 years till I was able to get an M3 of my own.

Is anyone going to cash out now and then in a few years buy back in for a lot less / or a better example for the same price?

he is a good mapper, but often use too much advance/timing - 2 964 RS`es had their engine blown after a mapping there.
and his numbers are very optimistic, but I guess you wont make many customers if all you eek out is another 10 bhp....
