Christian Loriaux is (or was) the technical director at M-Sport - the "works" Ford WRC and Bentley GT3 team. It's likely someone here will know it.
He has an ex-Bigazzi DTM car too ...

The same early cloth door trim that was left in the GpA cars, but cut around the cage door bars.

I swear if I ever finish rebuilding my red M3, it will be the only one with satin painted sills. No shiney sills ever !

I remember the days of the 5k M3, wasn’t long ago. (Ok, it was really).

I had a boss many years ago who had one. He had a switch to turn the mileage input off to keep the miles down.

Some pretty serious rust repairs probably deserve thorough inspection.

I was looking when they were £25-30k for an average car. Missed out on a decent one at £22k.

I am torn on this one. I think my black car would look odd with satin sills..any idea why BMW did this?

Haha, I missed out on one close to home. It was only £6000. It was a complete dog of a car and I looked at it and thought "Who would be dumb enough to buy that?"

Multiple corrosion-related MOT failures. Fairly impressive deterioration considering it's only 100miles over the last 8 years!

My 2nd diamond black M3 had the correct satin sills and it does actually work pretty well.

I like, just a looks thing I guess.

That red car also has annoyingly shiny black bumper tape too.

2004 had the choice of a uk e30 for spare change, why would I want a crappy old 3 series when I could have a shiney new 350z for a lot more money?

At the same time i turned my nose up at a crappy old 993 and why would I even consider a nsx?

Still, the 350 was fun for a year :'(

I had a 30k mile evo sport 2.5 around 2004 ish. Sold it the owner of the shell garage in my village for 12k which seemed like a fortune then.

He still has it. Only done about 5k miles since. Not sure he really realises what he has despite me hinting to it every time I fill up.

I am having my europameister 88 lightly restored. My sills should be satin shouldn't they.?
Good sources of parts would be greatly appreciated.
