I like that a lot, yes almost the antithesis of the original tin top but I almost like it's hypocrisy. It looks great.

There used to be one in Teddington / Twickenham about 6 or 7 years ago. She appeared to use it as her daily.

Joe Winkelhock used to own a carbrio E30 M3 and said it was every car he ever wanted. They look nice enough but I wouldn't want one.

Did BMW really offer RHD conversions by request?

Never heard of them doing them (I worked for a BMW dealer from 1994-2004). The only common change we did was mph speedos on imports.

Birds did a couple of RHD conversions, but BMW never supplied them in RHD.

Some BMW dealers had them converted when sold new at customers request.

A Misano red Evo 2 i worked on that went to Hong Kong was sold new by Hexagon BMW in London as was converted to RHD by Birds for Hexagon.

Same situation with a black sport Evo, except it went to the EAG in America after i worked on it and it was sold new by Heathrow BMW and again, converted by Birds for Heathrow BMW.

Hi Mark,

We haven’t met but that video is testament to all that is good about e30 ownership. It’s a special car, to be appreciated. I really enjoyed seeing someone who is so passionate about it.

Best regards,

Rob

Thanks for the kind words guys. Unfortunately I’m currently sat in hospital as my health has taken a bit of a dip lately. As a result I’ve taken the tough decision to part with my M3. This isn’t a decision I’ve taken lightly but I simply cannot justify keeping it. It would simply not get the use it deserves and I’m less likely to be able to afford its upkeep. So, much as it saddens me, I’ll be advertising it in the coming days.

If anyone is interested, I am happy to help with overseas shipping etc.

Sorry to hear that Mark.

I hope your health improves and that you are keeping upbeat.

It's a pity that you have to sell the car as you got so much pleasure out of it but I can understand your position.

I've no doubt that you will sell it easily.

Seen that car at retro rides and it's a credit to you.
