Looks to be priced fairly, especially for a dealer.
Just a possible warning. Looks to be priced fairly, especially for a dealer.
eBay seller is "imageautomotive"
Pics are from Fast Classics and Millennium Hero's websites. Which are linked companies but no mention of "image"
All the feedback on their profile is as a BUYER. Not a seller. Nothing in the last few months And for seemingly mobile phone bits.
Just seems off to me.

Image automotive is legit, they separate their large variety of stock into different companies as a way of branding i.e fast classics, millennium Heros, Octane Collection & Great British Classics. I have personally bought cars from them and I can assure there's nothing dodgy about this amazing company at all

Is it just me thinking this? Are prices for EVO cars getting really silly?
Here we have a Sport Evo for €159,000!! They describe this as a very fair price because the previous owner has lost all of the service history.
€159,000 for a SE with no history!! That's nuts!!

Are cars actually selling for these amounts? Are the Americans buying up all the EVO's and driving prices up?
I have a feeling there might be a market correction on the horizon.....or are we going to look at this post in 3 years and think what value that car was.

And as ever, advertising isn't selling.
Decent cars are selling for 6 figures, but they are in the minority.
On a slightly related note, the big mileage SEs we've seen. (200K plus) Obviously best practice would be to restore. But do you restore to factory? Or go the full "X-Works" route and go beyond factory and mod things along the way.
OEM++ to coin a phrase

That seems pretty fair and the owner says open to sensible offers. Car looks great in the photos it’s a credit to its owner imo. New price £69,950.
£89950 was pretty speculative, not sure I’ve seen a Europameister at that level before.

The red car has totally undercut the market at present if it goes for the auction guide price. Who would want to spend more on a car that's not been totally restored really?
Not sure it’s undercutting the market?£50k plus buyers plus vat is nearly £60k which is the same as buying a cheap one £25k (?) and sorting everything out properly...
And I couldn't live with the seats & some other details

Black leather interiors available on eBay!
Do you miss your Evo 2 Mark?
Enough to keep an eye out on them, but not too much. Controversial: I bought an excellent 928 S4 outright by selling a few boxes of spare parts i had left over for the Evo 2 after I sold it. The Porsche is 1. much quicker 2. much grippier 3. much much stronger (I can use it in the rain and snow without guilt) 4. sounds better 5. unexpectedly much more appreciated by people generally (exception being those really into cars) and 6. I can throw my mountain bike in the back. By contrast the M3 was much better looking (to my eye) and a bit more agile. In all I actually prefer the 928....Do you miss your Evo 2 Mark?

It amazes me the amount of money people want for these M3s yet fail to fit an MPH speedo.
I can completely understand why a seller wouldn't change the clocks.Edited by helix402 on Thursday 7th February 08:15
Personally, I would have no interest in a car that the clocks have been tampered with. The chances of the car being sold back to mainland Europe are significantly reduced if the clacks are in MPH. Changing the clocks takes away from the originality of the car and there is always the fear that mileage has been tampered with.

It takes minutes to clock an M3 so I wouldn’t be surprised if lots are clocked. Personally, I would have no interest in a car that the clocks have been tampered with. Why the aversion?Edited by helix402 on Thursday 7th February 08:15
Its hardly complex mathematics - "when i get to here, i'm going fast enough.."
Its how my M3 was built.... i'd like it to say 00000 miles, but it doesn't, 'cos its been in there since the car was built....
you don't even need to clock them. I had one i bought seconded hand in Germany that had the speedo wiring running though the cut out switch in the centre console. You could turn the clocks on and off at will. Unless a car has very low ownership numbers and history from both the UK and wherever it was imported from i personally would take mileage with a pinch of salt.

This was quite common when the cars were newish, I’ve seen another with a switch to disconnect the diff to speedo connection. When I was a main dealer technician I fitted a few imported M3s with UK speedos and set the new mileage to match the old one. Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
