6th month left of m5 lease
Discussion
I'm letting it go back and for the family hack I've contract hired a 335d msport xdrive lci. £314 Inc vat for a 6 x 23 months profile with 10k. However I've added the m plus pack and heated seats on top. Because I've sold the family hack for £40k (discovery sport which was rubbish) I've now got cash in the bank for a toy.
Will really miss the m5. But I suppose the 335d will be equally as quick for day to day usage.

As good as the 335d is, every time you see an M5 on the road you'll have a little feeling of loss which will never dwindle

I will but I had the new c63 on demo all last weekend and really did prefer the smaller car drive. Ok so the 335d ain`t no m3 or c63 but should be a hoot.As good as the 335d is, every time you see an M5 on the road you'll have a little feeling of loss which will never dwindle
And deciding what to buy for a toy is going to be good fun. Also I`ve probably only ever seen 4 m5`s since I`ve had mine

If I'm offered a silly purchase price that's one option or alternatively I'm thinking new M6 if the deals are still around.
The power of the M V8 and the package is simply stunning.
I'm off to Italy next week for three weeks on an M5 European tour (complete with wife, 5 and 10 year old) and I can't wait, I'm looking forward to 3000 miles of driving heaven

I can understand that choice as I am thinking along similar lines. The M5 is traction limited so the gap day to day wont be as big as the specs may suggest. Wish BMW would hurry up with the AWD M5.Will really miss the m5. But I suppose the 335d will be equally as quick for day to day usage.

If it's not too late to change the order I'd suggest adding adaptive suspension as without it an X-Drive can feel a bit soft if you want to go quickly on a twisty road (and that's because even the M-Sport versions of the X-Drives only get SE suspension as standard). Apologies in advance if you're aware of this already! Jonny TVR said:

That would be very dull I have a leased Golf R in addition to the M5 and, for all its tractive benefit, it might as well be the 1.4l TFSI.
Quick thread resurrection......
Anyone on the 24 month leases that are due to finish shortly made any progress on either their next car, settlement figures or extending their current cars?
I've still got just over a year on mine I'm over the mileage by a few thousand and interested in how BMW maybe likely to talk to me in 7 or 8 months or so.

I spoke to them and they wouldn't give me a figure to purchase until near or at the end of the contract. I have another 3 months left and my mileage is currently at 47k versus the agreed 40k. If I can buy it for £36K I will probably do so but with the new shape 5 series due out mid 2016 I wouldn't want to keep it for more than a year. I change my mind almost daily but latest crazy thinking is a Granturismo just for the noise and name if I'm honest. Why don't you haggle and tell them it can't be worth that much because the first owner has abused it. I've got 6 weeks left on my 2 year lease. BMW have offered me a 3 month extension at the current rate although they will increase this to 6 months if I order a new vehicle from them. The mileage allowance will be pro rata the same.
I asked about a 12 month extension and was told they would be happy to quote but I should expect a significant increase as 'discounts are loaded on new sales'. My car will need tyres, brakes and a service in six months so this doesn't seem a logical thing to do.
I was pondering getting a boring family car and a weekend toy when I saw the deals on the M6.....

This is the deals I was quoted last month on the M6.
BMW M6
3x23 20k per annum £1,232.50 ex VAT
3x35 20k per annum £870.80 ex VAT
The dealer said that he didn't expect to see the deal he gave me 18 months ago on the M5 happening again for the M6 or the M5. I'm paying £741 ex VAT based on 20k per annum for the M5 at the moment which at was the lowest available in the market.

Interesting, I wonder how much it would reduce on say 12k per annum?BMW M6

Apart from the initial payment it's virtually what I'm paying for the M5.
A very cheap way to drive a £100k car!
