E60 M5 Undertray
Discussion
Hi Guys,
I was coming out of a shopping carpark an there was a ramp the bottom scrapped the edge of the ramp and the under tray came slightly loose. So I thought ok when I get a chance I will take a look at it. Anyway completely forgot to check it out so I'm happily driving along the Mway this morning an before I know it the Undertray was in my rear view mirror... It flew off whilst I was driving on the motorway!
My initial thought was I had a tyre blow out then I realised it was the Undertray when I pulled over. Luckily I wasn't far from home. Drove back no issues whatsoever, it's booked in on Tuesday at the stealers to get the rear pads and discs changed I will get them to have a look and quote me on repairing the Undertray.
Any suggestions on potential issues or costs involved? Also does it effect the car or any of the components. I had a good look underneath there was no damage to anything just where the Undertray should have been connected you could see where it had ripped off.
Any advise would be great thanks.

Here guys added a video to show the damage. Also noticed a slight leak of some so wanted some advice on that too.

the undertray itself is easy to do, costs about 180 I think. I'd be more worried about you hitting the oil cooler at the front and stressing the pipework there, causing a leak. An oil cooler is about 5/600 i think, maybe 800 fitted by BMW
It all looked ok to me have you seen the video?Looks like the front undertray plus the oil filter access panel are completely missing and the middle tray is damaged and will need replacing as well.
The seepage looks like it's from the oil filter housing - the drain plug might be seeping.
What muppet put clip-on wheel weights on the car?

Not sure bought the car recently. Waiting to get the brakes done on Tuesday then getting the wheel alignment and balancing redone. The seepage looks like it's from the oil filter housing - the drain plug might be seeping.

Any idea on potential costs involved to get the repair work done?

The parts that you've mentioned to deals tend to have them in stock? Also what kind of work is involved in repairing it?The seepage looks like it's from the oil filter housing - the drain plug might be seeping.
