Interesting!
Its the first I've heard of further allocation being available. Hopefully there's some truth in this and not some dealer BS to get a dipper out of you. Anyone else heard of increased numbers?
Yes result today . Read this yesterday and hassled my dealer again. He rang back today with 30th Sept 2016 delivery date. Brilliant. Up to now I only had a promise of a car. My dealer has an allocation of one in 2016 (mine haha) and maybe another one in 2017, (Isle of Man so not the biggest dealer!) Apparently there are some extra allocations coming through. Think my dealer is as surprised as I am! Its the first I've heard of further allocation being available. Hopefully there's some truth in this and not some dealer BS to get a dipper out of you. Any chance of haggling a discount do you think?

From what I hear the GFV's on a PCP aren't that great on an M2 (much worse than a Cayman for example) and if allocations are increasing it doesn't feel like it's going to have anywhere near the niche desirability of the 1M; therefore, give it a few months and perhaps discounts on list may indeed be possible? As it stands a decent spec M2 is coming in at a similar price to an M4 post-discount and you can't help but think that that's not sustainable...Any chance of haggling a discount do you think?

Either that, or they've moved allocations from other countries. Some EU countries have very short waiting lists, the number available in the US is quite frankly ridiculous given the extreme limit in the UK.
It's RHD here in Oz so wonder how that fits in.What's the U.S. Situation?
It seems there are a dozen or so for each dealer in 2016, with reports of vehicles immediately available sitting at some dealers still. Aren't German M vehicles fairly new to the US? As a country they may be the largest buyers of BMWs, but I am unsure quite why the scales are tipped so heavily in their favour?!

Are you referring to the US? Looking at the posts on the bimmerpost forums there at lot's of people on long waiting lists, tracking builds/deliveries and talk each dealer getting a car every couple of months. I am seriously considering cancelling my order. Not happy about the way the allocations have been handled and the number of cars being flipped. First name on the list at my dealership for a non-limited run car, deposit down in October 2015, launch in April 2016, but being told mid September 16 earliest. Then I hear people walking into dealerships and securing the launch car.

BMW turning to Porsche's ways? Not great from a customer perspective. And if the supply has been turned up (as many suspected it would be) then values will fall - from the mixed reviews it's clear that this isn't the second coming of the 1M.

So July build cars onwards are going to have the new i drive system. My car is due for delivery in July, not sure how i feel about getting old technology as soon as its bloody delivered.
From what i understand there will also be an option for Apple play.
I was told by my dealer there's no plans for Apple iplay as BMW & Apple had a big fallout at the beginning of the year about the screens in the new 7 series being made by Samsung. From what i understand there will also be an option for Apple play.

O/T but that's strange seeing as Samsung make most of the screens for Macs, iPhones etc.thatsprettyshady said:

And BMW are listed as one of the Apple Partners on the Apple web site, although no BMW is in the list of cars that support it!
Certainly doesn't make much sense Other makes have it and BMW won't want to be left behind.
Surely its a software rather than hardware thing?
I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being backwards compatible, but perhaps only for cars up to a certain age.
They could offer it as part of a firmware update... They'd make much more money out of it by activating it (at a cost) on existing cars than offering it (no-cost) on their future cars.
