Thought this thread here might be of some interest.

Really cant make my mind up about the blue. Looks different in every picture I see. From what I can tell in overcast conditions it looks as above, which I like. but in bright sunlight it looks turquoise, which I dont like so much.

I really like the blue!

So do we know if supply is going to be limited yet, or whether it'll just be a normal production car?

Just put a refundable deposit down on one of these on the basis that i) I think it may be a cracking car and perfect for my needs at the moment, and ii) I was informed that the dealer had been made aware today that their allocation was 1, yes 1, for 2016 as supply is being limited by BMW.

Don't wish to appear alarmist as this sounds like typical sales closure tactics to me wink - but I'd be quite interested to hear what others are being told by dealers from today about availability and allocations etc
My usual sales guy called yesterday and said he had 3 coming and would I be interested in sticking £500 down to be one of the first.

This dealer isn't exactly a big outfit either. He was confident there wouldn't be a limited supply either.

I've just read this of the M2:

The new BMW M2 comes as standard with a six-speed manual gearbox, featuring dry-sump lubrication and an engagement speed control function that blips the throttle on downshifts and lowers the engine's revs on upshifts.

I seriously hope that it doesn't have that. That's what a manual 'box with a clutch is all about.
Same as M3/M4. You can turn it off.
Thanks Ross, that's good news to me.

Yes, although hardly anyone orders the manual 'box...

I was worried about this too, but it's actually okay when you're just doing general driving duties.

You can only turn it off in 'sport plus' throttle response. I assume it will be similar on the M2.

They are missing out and should order the manual box I reckon!

I do really like that Blue on the M2 and it was nice to get a sneaky peek at one, so thanks to the poster who put the pics up.

If you have a look here there loads of pictures of the blue out in the wild.

I like the idea of the manual too but this is the daily, semi sensible car so makes sense to go DCT. Alos tbh since selling my CSL I miss paddles.

you mean the gearbox is dry sumped, I assumed it was the engine that was dry sumped

may have to go into BMW tomorrow and find out more.

for those who have put money down:
What is the base price?
What's standard / optional?
What's the price plus the must have options?
Looks like the seats are standard chairs, rather than M4 buckets? are they optional?
Is it just a Black interior option?
What Finance options did they give?

or is it too early for all this?

thanks

Someone on BabyBMW has just posted the below:

Just had the M2 figures through!
Base price £44,070.00
Deposit £5998
4 Years / 8000 miles
Gfv £19,750.46
10.8%
48 x £721

For comparison a DCT equipped M3 can be had on identical terms for £598.
Wtf?!"

They must think there's strong demand then. Bit of a no brainer for me though! And you can lease an M5 for £600 per month.

With such a poor GFV, the good news is you're paying loads of capital off during the rental so I would expect a healthly balance at the end and forget paying 10.8%, surely your bank will give you circa 5%??

Just down load the brochure from BMW. It has all the answers apart from finance options.
