I'm obviously letting the side down in the mpg honours - tad over 1,500 miles and my combined average using a fuel app is sitting a little over 25mpg.
Mines a daily commuter so 75% of my weekly driving is on the Motorways though.

Yes mine did the same . I thInk there is a puma fix that the dealers know about . Mine was possibly from the air vents in the b/c pillar but I never pinned it down and it's now sold and probably annoying someone else

Yes, all M5 leathers are soft merino. All non M5s are Dakota cardboard leather. (unless ind. optioned)

1. Standard leather "extended" but that's not really what it is an awful lot wasn't leather.
2. Individual leather that gave you quite a bit more leather, the lower part of the dash and sides of the centre console plus all the bits on the seats that as standard weren't leather are leather, the back of the front seats etc...
3. Full leather - same as the Individual leather + dash roll top and the tops and lower portions of the doors. (this could be specced as individual or standard colours)
To answer the OP - I have had mine a month..
done a track day at Silverstone - video posted on another thread... a camping weekend, some commuting and some country lane blasts.
Car is Fantastic day to day car
Hugely practical
Massively fast
Decent brakes
Loads of grip
More economical than any previous M car or AMG I owned
Surprisingly characterful exhaust (no C63) but a sophisticated modern noise with whooshes blare and pops and bangs...
I just want to sharpen the turn in a little for track days...

have been wondering about trading my e92 m3 for an F10 m5.
I know its dependant on a lot but what do you think the cost to exchange (at BMW) would be for:
e92 m3 less than 40k miles, warranty still in place, 61 plate
f10 m5 2014-ish less than 40k miles.
Only think holding me back is e92's could probably hold their value well / less depreciation than the m5

Trade in will always be low ball offer you do realise that - you are paying for a service hassle free. I know its dependant on a lot but what do you think the cost to exchange (at BMW) would be for:

I thought e9x M3 prices were firming up, but when I advertised my car I only got 2 phone calls even when I dropped below 19k... for an 09 40k miles immaculate under warranty car with good colour and spec..
I gave up and traded in my M3 for a 30k mile 2013 M5.. upgrade worth every penny. An amazing improvement in performance... quality, mpg, grip, (and less important things like space practicality and economy) and as somebody told me the M3 is for men in their 20s.... final straw for me

5 months into M5 CP ownership now.... done 4000 miles in that time,currently sat In the southwest of France after a very pleasant drive down last week.
Car is incredible, still absolutely love it. My only minor gripes are the fuel economy isn't very good when you rag it everywhere, I'm averaging 14.6mpg most of the time. Also have killed a nearly new set of rear Pirelli Pzeros in less than 4000 miles... on the other hand, for a 575bhp 2 tonne car, it's surprising how easy it is to drive it sideways when the mood takes you! ... not sure if that has anything to do with the tyre wear though?

The M5 is better built (largely, rattles aside...), more modern with all the gadgets, more comfortable and has the comfort of a warranty. But it's not as much fun. Ok, it's absurdly quick in a straight line but it doesn't make any noise other than the first 10 seconds at cold idle and you can't chuck it around like you can with an M3. That said, it does slide around nicely when you want it to
But that's not the point of it I guess. I'm driving it down to Italy in a few weeks and I'm sure I'll be glad it's not an M3 after 10hrs on the motorway.
