When Will F10 M5 Production End?
Discussion
As per the title. I have another year left on my current M135i PCP deal and I'm trying to weigh up all the options available for it's replacement. Two of these options being either ordering a new F10 M5 (if they are still being made...) or looking for a good deal on a Comp Pack M5.
I just wondered if BMW will stop making them this year or next year and whether anyone knew which month this would happen?

Just found this for the 2016 model year (US market). I would imagine that production for the European market would be similar.
Rest of world doesn't use MY system.
However, I'm pretty sure that the M5 is due for EOP in autumn this year in prep for the next version sue out next year.........this is why there are stonking deals to be done on them, even for factory orders, as there are build slots still, as some people will hold off for the new model rather than the last of the old models.

This will be MY2017 M5: http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/spy-shots/bmw/new-201...

I did read somewhere that M5 production would finish in October 2016. I'm tempted to pick one of the last ones up if I can get an amazing deal (they are already offering 20k off).
Even with £20k off you'd then need a £10k deposit followed by 48months of £599pcm @2%. At that level your paying in £38k+ for 4 years use of the car - why not buy a £40k version is wager 4 years down the line it will be well under half the cost.

Hopefully early next year, I believe the standard G30 launch is set for the Autumn
My F10 is due up in April 17
It looks like Broadspeed are also doing c£20k off the RS6 and E63 AMG E63 S AMG too so if anyone fancies a different but of vindaloo they are for the taking. My F10 is due up in April 17

but let's say someone "upgrades" from an M135i PCP to this that's a huge step up in car but also a mega step up in committed cost.
What an odd statement. Of course it's will be a step up in committed cost! A new M135i up to a new M5 will cost more money for sure.BUt if they had a "normal" M135i PCP of say £400-500/pm, rather than the cheaper offers that have been available to those that looked, then £600 odd for an M5 is a bargain!
I reckon you'll be able to lease / CH an M5 for under £500/m late in production. Factory support seems to have been reduced lately as the lease prices have gone up markedly since late 15. They should come down again later on if previous cycles are to be relied upon.

Basically I'm focusing on affordability and yes someone might just be able to stretch to said numbers here - but let's say they only earn £25k the % committed cost of salary is extremely high - but that's an individual's choice. I'd assume that most people procuring £80k+ RRP cars earn notably more than £80k. (Is that macro stereotype way off kilter or broadly right?).
For me if someone is struggling to afford the £38k over 4 years then they should buy a used version instead and have some sort of equity at the end.
Yes, the PCP deposits are high for M5s etc.
But they're not on Lease / CH (which for many, me included, is the best way to have a new car these days)
Before end of 2015 a 3k deposit would have got an M5 for under £600/m
I got my M6GC with 5.5k dep for £650/m
As the deposit for a new car is saved during ownership of the previous car, I budget that cost on top of the previous car if that makes sense? Man maths maybe.
Not sure about your theory that a salary must exceed the list price of your car though? Is that some kind of Neo Corbyn-omics?

I'm leasing a Golf R alongside my PCP'd M5 which fits the M135i comparison made above.
The two cars are on totally different levels of cost - skewed in part by the fact that the Golf was blindingly cheap as M135i's have also been - and I imagine this difference is going to be more - not less - pronounced for anyone buying used because the M5 is going to start landing 4-figure maintenance bills as a matter of routine rather than exception.
If I had to put figures on it I'd say the M5 ownership overall is costing at least three times as much as the leased Golf, but I am putting more miles on it.

I work for a BMW dealer and my system won't allow me to order an M5 Saloon past October this year. Or any 5 saloon for that matter, the GT and Touring's run until March 2017 by the looks of things.
Might not be set in stone, but certainly gives you a good idea!
Hope that helps!
Chris
This is exactly what I'm getting at its a massive cost differential and anyone putting on rose tinted glasses need to have their eyes wide open. Expensive car costs a lot to run Might not be set in stone, but certainly gives you a good idea!
Hope that helps!
