I hope this is correct as I have just bought a 51k manual with the original actuators and my mate has a 58k manual with original actuators. Even if they do fail fixing them is the same price as 2 new back tyres so it's not that big a deal.
At 75k my manual had one set of actuators done but not the others. Is it fairly common now to add a supercharger or Turbo to the V8 M3?
Am thinking THAT engine with some boost wouldrip apart the newer M3/4 and in isolation probably be into the 650bhp territory for what sun £25k incl car purchase.
0-100mph low 7 seconds/spank a Ferrari F40 and getting close to the Mc F1

OK so the white DCT oil issue resolved- the services between 12 and 48k weren't written in the log book but are on the digital key record at BMW Solihull where they have confirmed two additional oil services so all good.
Onto the manual drove this evening. Generally great condition and looks more understated in space grey with black interior. Same mileage bit felt older to drive if that makes sense? Shocks weren't as smooth (also edc) and just didnt feel taught. The gear shift was also slightly suspect compared to the first manual I drove. Was much notchier (Not a bad thing in itself) but 2nd was really hard to get into and felt different each time like something wasn't right. Felt grindy. 4th and 6th were also less forthcoming than 1st, 3rd and 5th.
The biggest issue however was a slight misfire when pushing hard between 6-8k. A very brief rapid repetition of 'parp' sounds as the engine climbed through that part of the rev range. It didnt seem to affect performance it was just noticable and didnt seem right. Neither of the previous cars I drove had that. Sounded fine at idle and accelerating gently. Any ideas? Only had plugs replaced once at 25k now at 50k miles. As things stand I'd need that diagnosing before making an offer or walk away.
Ran a full diagnostic using carly pro obd and no engine fault codes (just a brake light and dashboard display fault but with nothing appearing to be wrong).
Preferring the feel and condition of the dct at the mo even though still want manual in theory. The dct comes with 1yr bmw warranty included in price for only 1k extra.

But that's irrelevant now, with the DCT coming with a year's AUC warranty (push them for 2 and if they say no pay them for the second year at circa £500) there is no decision to make. FYI the BMW Insured Warranty will cost you at least a grand a year and covers less so it'a s no brainer.

They look pretty good in RL.
Does look cheap. But I couldn't bring myself to drive a white M3.
I think white is one of the better colours if I'm honest. Does look cheap. But I couldn't bring myself to drive a white M3.
