Just put my frozen blue M Performance Edition up on PH classifieds if anyone interested in a car that surely will hold its money if not go up in value.
It's one of the last E92's with most options as standard including the comp pack.
I bought the car a year ago from Lloyd Newcastle BMW and just had it serviced at BMW Maidstone. I understand that some would be reluctant to spend that much buying privately but as someone else said, I always like to meet the previous owner and see where the car been kept etc. Mine lives in nice double garage under a fitted cover! ??

prices definitely seem to be holding well, and slightly going up.... will be interesting to see what values do over the longer term... they are never going to go seriously north i don't think... but part of the problem is what else can you buy for 20k ish that gives close to the performance/look/feel

i have an '08 E90, the only car that interests me to change to is a 911...... my problem is i would not risk a Gen 1 997, the Gen 2 is a chunk of change... and the 996 whilst the potential issues are less likely (and costly) as the early 997s they are an 'old' car....

i'm tentative to sell now and buy a 996 and see... or stump up the extra for a Gen 2 997...... or just hold tight for a year or two... the E90 might even go up in value a little.. and the Gen 2 997 will most likely still drop given age an volumes

interesting game !!

Sorry Stroller but £36k for a 40k mile M3. No chance. Their was a 2012 M3 Comp pack with 10k miles at Douglas Park beginning of this month sold with 2 year warranty for £33k.

I hear you, but there does seem to be a bit of a premium for limited edition cars, whether you agree with the reasoning or not. Yes, you can spec a car up to MPE spec but would it still be worth the same? No, probably not.
The asking price is just the start of negotiations, I'm open to offers and won't be offended !

Do you all think the Manual versions will be the better versions to have long term over the more common DTC cars?

Won't lie I've been tempted to swap my M235i in for one thanks to seeing / hearing one blast around Snetterton on a track day.

Possibly. It's a personal preference thing though, and the manual vs DCT thing has been flogged to death on here.

I've only driven a manual one - on a track, and it was fine. I came home and immediately started searching the classifieds. This was 6 years ago, and Interestingly the cheapest ones were around £17k, much the same as now.

I've been sniffing around them again recently, and was chatting to a colleague who had a manual one. He reckons it was the biggest mistake he made, and should've gone for a DCT one, but I'm not so sure.

I'll chip in with my thoughts here, I've been looking for a manual one for quite a while.....a dealer a while back convinced me to try a DCT, and whilst it didn't change my mind I cannot deny it really suits the engine. I've other auto cars, plus for me this being naturally aspirated and manual is part of the appeal.

As for prices, obviously manuals are much rarer, but they've been stable for a couple of years now. Given the number of times Evo's recommended them of late they might start to creep up!

Cheers

At the £30k pricepoint, manual AUC car's are about £3k cheaper than the equivalent DCT in my experience.

No warranty and a silver interior. What do these people smoke at night???? Clean car yes but no way worth that much.

It also doesn't appear to have heated seats or front parking sensors! As an E92 owner these are all essential if you intend to drive it as a normal car regularly. Also doesn't have EDC. Seems base spec.

Going off at a slight tangent, although still related, how much might I expect to get in a private sale for my E90 M3?

61 plate LCI saloon, SS Blue
25k miles
FBMWSH

My first post so please be gentle. I'm looking for a LCI E90 M3 Saloon with Auto gearbox and EDC and it's proving seriously problematic to find one in decent condition. They are as rare as hens teeth frown Not surprised they are holding their price well given the rarity of this configuration.

Any with decent spec are up near £28k or more at BMW dealers and the others seem to be a base spec or an undesirable colour. It's driving me up the wall! First world problems I know but it's been around 4 weeks since I began my search and I have hardly seen anything new hit Autotrader that's an Auto with moderate miles other than what is currently there...

I guess I will just keep on searching...
