F10 M5 headlights
Discussion
Yes it is a standard fitment, well at least on the later ones, can't comment on the spec of them when they came out.
I didn't realise they did anything other than move when you went around corners, indicated etc... and therefore dismissed them as a gimmick. If they do more perhaps I was being a bit unkind.

He is talking about the adaptive LED headlights not the standard xenon headlights. I didn't realise they did anything other than move when you went around corners, indicated etc... and therefore dismissed them as a gimmick. If they do more perhaps I was being a bit unkind.
OP - no it is not standard - it should be for the price of the car on the M5!

As I understand it, the standard Xenons on LCI cars (not sure about pre-LCI) do have adaptive beam shaping functionality which is somewhat comparable to that of the optional LEDs.
I have seen this technology in action on another car it seems pretty good - in hindsight I'm not sure it was worth me paying £1600 for the adaptive LEDs on my M5.

You can upgrade to LED's (as I have done on my X5) but on the LCI M5 fully adaptive Zenons are standard.
