Do all F10 M5's have the adaptive headlight things?
The ones that block out certain areas when going past a car etc.

Mine does it but I don't remember spec'ing anything fancy with the lights.

Yes it is a standard fitment, well at least on the later ones, can't comment on the spec of them when they came out.

I didn't realise they did anything other than move when you went around corners, indicated etc... and therefore dismissed them as a gimmick. If they do more perhaps I was being a bit unkind.

They are brilliant and as a result I added them (also as LED) to my recent X5 order.

They were standard on later LCI cars and a cost option I believe on earlier cars.

Agree that they are very good.

He is talking about the adaptive LED headlights not the standard xenon headlights.
OP - no it is not standard - it should be for the price of the car on the M5!

As I understand it, the standard Xenons on LCI cars (not sure about pre-LCI) do have adaptive beam shaping functionality which is somewhat comparable to that of the optional LEDs.

I have seen this technology in action on another car it seems pretty good - in hindsight I'm not sure it was worth me paying £1600 for the adaptive LEDs on my M5.

The standard lights on my LCI M5 had adaptive Zenon lights, moving and creating black holes, the works.

You can upgrade to LED's (as I have done on my X5) but on the LCI M5 fully adaptive Zenons are standard.
