The term 'parts bin special' was also applied to the 1M and that's another very special thing to drive, totally belying the sum of its parts.

And why would you have an M2 over a GT4? Well if you've got young children and not much time the drives in a weekend two seater are extremely limited.

Good on you for sticking with the order. I'm sure it'll be an awesome drive and I'm looking forward to hearing more about it once th UK road test are published.
The problem with using the 1M as an example is just how very different the car was over its lesser counterpart (135i). The M2 comp is 95% of a CS, does it really justify the extra price?

I love the M2 CS, but its not a 70k car. Remember the 1M when new was 40k...
Happy for anyone to talk up the 1M all day long.

Indeed, that £40k now looks a relative bargain but agreed the price required for the CS considering the relatively small changes does seem hard to justify.

I will watch the reviews with Interest.

M2 CS not selling? So only around 100 in UK so why are 3 of them press cars?

Top Gear/Joe Achillies driving a Misano Blue (DCT & CCB), Autocar a Hockenheim Silver (DCT & CCB) and EVO a black one (Manual & CCB)

Would have one in a heartbeat if:

a) I could afford one and
b) I could get one wink

I'm sure the press fleet will be sold on through dealers as ex management cars, like all the other press cars.

To me no, I agree. Even a Comp wasn't worth the £10k extra compared to a OG M2 either.

But for someone else the delta in price might well be worth it. BMW are guessing that there will be enough people to mop production volume. If not, it will naturally depreciate either as new or second hand to a level of
value that will balance supply and demand. The same applies to many car ranges where the the law of diminishing returns takes prevalence quite low down in the price range.

Didn’t realise the CS doesn’t have an armrest.
No way I’d buy one now...

Ah, true. Much as they did with the 1M and others.

I was in 2 minds over my order. I cancelled probably 4 times. In the end my dealer ignored me and bless him for it. My black with gold fully loaded CS is here and gets delivered soon. Peeing my pants with excitement. Reviews look great and it will be a keeper. Yep it’s expensive but you only live once.

Good for you! Get some pictures up when you get it. Did you go MDCT or Manual?

Manual off course. I also went for the Cup2s as I figured would be cheaper than switching out the Pilot Sports. That said I will buy a set of PS4S for day to day driving and use the Cups in summer and track.

Yes will post up some glamour shots soon. I have a 718gt4 also so will post some comments and pics when ready in a couple of weeks .

480 BHP+ In the CS.

I thought it seemed quick compared to a Comp watching the speedo whizz round on the carwow drag race video.Definitely more than a 50 BHP upgrade.

No huge surprise in the 480hp dyno figures. It has the full M4 Competition Pack engine (rather than the de-tuned M2 Competition version) and these are quoted as 450hp but are seeing the same 480hp on dynos. Mine certainly feels healthy.

The two engines are identical across the range, its just the ECU tune that differs.

Is the crank hub retained (or not as the case might be) in the same manner?

Has anyone else been driving their new M2 CS? I’m assuming they’ve all been delivered by now so surely not all of them stored away. Any news of total numbers delivered in the UK? Question time, sorry!
