Don't tell me your going to pay £72K for a BMW "M", HELP.
£62K max.
yep, my current M4 was £73K and thats just a mineral white. its the Mperformance parts that add to the cost.

Im fed up of seeing more M4's on my way to work than Ford Mondeos so this one will stand out from the crowd.

Dont get me wrong, its on a PCP not cash. so all i need to factor in is the monthly cost over 2 to 3 years when i can either PX at break even point or sell privately and move onto the next one. at £1000 pm ill lose £24-36K over 2 to 3 years. if i was to buy a lower spec car at £62K ill end up with a simillar loss after the same amount of time so cant see the point in aiming lower.

at least that's how my man maths works in my head. I may be an idiot but very excited to have something different on the way. albeit if a little expensive on face value.

I hope you enjoy it and that your working out was good on Costs.

If anyone interested after my visit to BMW the other day I have just been offered 8% reduction in list price. Apparently called a cost price deal. Something that BMW had running that was 'extended for me'.No haggling yet required.

Obviously I don't know if that is good or not as no one else is discussing their 'trade secret' haggling techniques. However if might help someone to know if they show interest then walk away this seems to be the standard way of encouraging people back to talk.

no trickery to my technique just a case of getting the "best quote" from 5 or so dealers, then taking the best of the 5 back round the other 4 to better it and keep on going round and round until you get to the ceiling of the discount. In the end they all kind of run out of margin at a simillar point with very little between the keenest 2 or 3 of them.

you feel like an arse for doing it but needs must and all that.

My cousin's just signed on the dotted line for an M4 Competition Pack; factory order because it's a manual, 15% discount. Think just over 11% of that is coming from the deposit contribution BMW are advertising under Finance Offers on their website but not sure whether that also applies to non-CP cars (suspect not). Regardless, 15% off an M4 CP sounds a pretty decent deal to me and I will be suitably envious when it arrives!

No one is a mug, are they? They're different spec cars. Your car lists at £69.5k whereas the Verde Mantis car lists at £82k. Seems to me entirely reasonable that the price differential therefore remains pretty much intact after discount/negotiations on the respective cars. Two great cars, two happy customers. Simple.

Exactly. totally depends on what options you want. if you buy a pre spec'd car at a high price and there are options you dont want then there would certainly be some muggery at play. i want everything ive added to the spec, so the question isnt is £82K too much for an M4 zcp - yes it is bloody ridiculous if you dont want that spec, its outrageous quite frankly. but if thats the spec i want then its the correct price.

Whats relevant is the amount of discount you can negotiate from the starting point. Mine came down by 12% and im very happy with that.

Yes its still £72K but for the car in question its a great deal.

I could have it in alpine white, manual, no LED's, drop the individual full leather, the £1800 steering wheel etc and save a fortune. But those things are the reason im buying the car in the first place lol

BMW have announced 0% deals on stock cars ordered and registered in Nov. Head over to M3 Cutters for the details.

laugh i shall accept that critique on the chin like a man.

The family business is accountancy. I did not follow suit needless to say.
cars are my passion/hobby. They don't need to make financial sense for me to jump in with both feet.

I bought a noble M12gto when i was 21 and drove it every day as my daily. spent more on fixing it than on the original purchase price over 3 years. Financially, was this sensible - god no. would i go back and do things differently - hell no laugh

edit: - just realised that wasn't aimed at me, however i shall happily put myself in the same boat lol
